Welcome to IGN's weekly countdown of the exceptional, fascinating, and absurd: something they like to call Top 10 Tuesday. Every week they feature the top ten games, characters, fashion statements or whatever else they can think of that in some way relates to gaming and its history.
This week they're focusing on the longest game titles around. Remember when a game could be summed up with just a few letters? Pong? Tank? Zork? Nowadays the name of the game is to cram as many words, colons, and hyphens into the title as possible, as if gamers make purchase decisions based on what game takes the longest to pronounce. They narrowed the field to games released in the U.S., so Japan's White Princess the second ~ Love Adventure in the School That Follows the Principle of Convenience, Where It's Okay to Stray From the Path or Stay on the Path was not eligible.
