Why Nintendo need not sweat Microsoft or Sony

"With the reveal of motion controls at E3, and price cuts from Microsoft and Sony, many are saying Nintendo might be done. Many are trying their best at saying that right now with the way things look, Nintendo should be worried. We are here to tell you that even with price cuts and new motion controls, and with the gaming press suggesting otherwise, the Wii will be a hard one to take down."

I think peripherals and software will be the important factors in keeping Microsoft and Sony at bay.

As much as people don't like peripherals...they do sell.

Nintendo and Sony wins.

Microsoft can just GTFO of the gaming industry.

"Many are trying their best at saying that"

Nintendo aren't going anywhere and if it does get bad they could drop the price to nearly a hundred dollars and still make a profit.

Nintendo "isn't " going anywhere. Practice what you preach.

I knew people would look for problems with my post lol I said "are" because I am speaking as if they are a group instead of a company since it's familiar talk and not an article. In an article I probably would've referred to them with is.

Nintendo nailed down a good strategy.I'm glad they are putting MS and Sony in their place

I disagree Steven. Don't get me wrong I like nintendo, ever since the Nes and Snes era. I always wanted Nintendo to be on top, but I rather it be the N64 and the Gamecube not the Wii. I mean they're something definitely wrong when Wii Fit, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort sell millions. Sorry for the rant.

Was it dropping a weak console with gimmicky motion controls and marketing it towards the casual masses with an affordable price tag?

Or was it re-hashing old (but great) franchises ie: Zelda, Mario, & Metroid, but generally focusing on filling the shelves with endless amounts of fud?

It not about motion controls..that is the tech behind what really matters, ease of use. Casuals don't play games because of the violence it is more about the complex controls that have been getting more complicated as we have gone from 2d to 3d.

Everything else is a result of ease of use. motion controls, affordability, the upcoming "demo play". All are there to get you playing the game, even if you suck. The think World of Warcraft got to be the number 1 online game because it is complex? It got there because Blizzard knew that to be successful you need to start easy and progressively get hard.

If a game is hard right from the get go, many casuals never come back to it after trying for the first time. Ease of use solves every problem for casual and non-gamers.
