New Persona 3 Portable Screenshots and Gameplay Videos

Persona 3 may be back, but it's not exactly the same. Atlus brought in the experts to see if this new version was bearable. (Persona 3, Persona 3 Portable, PSP)

It looks like they replaced the main character with a pointer when you're in school and in the city. Kinda lame if you ask me. Oh well, at least the MC is visible/controllable when dungeon crawling. Also, Yukari, Junpei and Ken social links for the female MC. The new music isn't good, imo.

Those issues aside, I'm still getting it. Persona 3 was one of the best and freshest RPGs I've played in quite a while. I'm very interested in playing as a chick. Lesbian sex!!!

Forgot to mention, the load times are extremely quick compared to the PS2 one. I wonder if they installed the game or not.

Still disappointed they replaced the MC with a cursor, but it's completely understandable. It's adds the portable experience to it, and it saves up/removes space.

Considering the videos where showing use of the game on PSP Go which has no UMD then yeah it's installed and will have very quick load times.

I would assume the reason they made it pointer based in the school is the wonkyness of the analog stick and D-Pad on the PSP and they could not take a point approach in the dungeons hence why they are unchanged.

Persona 3 is one of the best RPG's of all time and it will be great to play it again with a new perspective and added content.

This makes me excited for Persona 5 because this most likely means P5 will have the ability to choose Male for Female from the outset and will probably effect the story and social links alot more then they will be affected in P3 due to the fact that this is a addition and in P5 it will be implemented from the start or so I can hope.

This also makes me wonder if we will see a new version of P4 at some point which would certainly be interesting.

Oh looks pretty interesting, i thought the music was pretty good imo.Wait did i just see a gy version of Elizabeth?Lol!!!I might actually buy a Psp just for this game.I gues i gotta look for a part time job hehe.

The Velvet room assistant is male if you choose to play as a Female which makes sense considering it will most likely be a social link like Elizabeth was in P3 Fes.

Ah i see, that makes sense.

Seems more or less like a faithful port maybe a little less robust is all. Also, it looks like you will still be able to play as the male protagonist?
Homicide  +   2169d ago
Yeah, you can choose between the male or female character.

Lovely.

I'm buying this on day-one despite having already P3 and P3 FES... and that's all I have to say.

Uh. . . .not really feeling the battle music right now. Looks interesting, can't wait to see more or a official trailer.

I miss Persona 3. This serves as a lovely excuse to play it again. Don't mind the female lead at all. I've played a guy enough. Besides, I can finally hit on Akihiko. ^_^ Or maybe Junpei... Chidori will be one pissed chick.

Doesn't seem like this will have the second episode: The Answer. Darn. Oh well. You know they could have just made a third episode, but this time with a female lead. Then it wouldn't feel like a port so much. I don't mind the cursor highlighting in town, and the music sounds great.

They said there will be new content for the male side as well. Hopefully they reveal more in next week's Famitsu. I want to know everything about P3P.

Also, Atlus, don't forget, P2: IS & EP please! Don't abandon us now!1!11

The reason we may not be seeing a P2 port is because of the fact that not to long ago Atlus did a 2nd run on P2 EP and pretty much anyone who wanted the game picked it up at that point.

That said IS still hasn't gotten a 2nd pressing or port so we can always hope.
