Piracy only reason for delay assassin's creed 2 PC-version

Patrice Desilets, one of the people behind Assassin's Creed 2, informed 9lives that there is only one specific reason why the game is going to release late on the pc. It is not because of some aversion towards the platform, but merely because of the piracy problem. "We have examined it and we could have easily sold ten million copies if it wasn't for the piracy problem. That is really the only reason why we are going to release it late on the pc.

He also eradicated the rumour that over 400 people are working on the game. "That's not true, it's only 250 people." If you want to know more, check out 9lives for more information concerning the exclusive hands-on session from Gamescom in the near future. (Assassin's Creed 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

I'm still gonna get it for PS3. PSP connectivity sold me. Also I played both console and PC version. Console plays better for me.

This sentence cracks me up:
"We have investigated and we were easily able to sell ten million copies as there is no problem with piracy on the PC. This is really the only reason why the PC version later,"

They should probably
delay the 360 version too as it is also easily pirated.

I don't get it, those who are going to download it, are going to download it. Whats the point in delaying the game. It is going to get pirated anyways & tools like DRM SecuROM are just pissing off potential buyers, those games get much easier to download and play, rather then buying it and playing it.

Step one is delaying something. Step two is cutting a PC version for a future release of games by this company at all.

Trouble with their line of reasoning is i can see people who might prefer it for PC instead getting it for the PS3/Xbox and then figuring 'well, i've already paid full price once for it, i'll download the PC version; that's the one i ideally wanted in the first place'.

The people who are going to steal are always going to steal. Delaying it for the legitimate PC game buyers is just going to make things worse; curry more resentment on that platform - 'they screw us, we'll screw them back!' etc.

And within 2 weeks someones gonna crack whatever piracy protection they have on there... but even if they can't, don't these developers get it already? The people who normally pirate games aren't gonna go like "oh, I can't pirate it, so I'm gonna buy it." They're just not gonna get it period. This won't change their minds at all.

"we were easily able to sell ten million copies as there is no problem with piracy on the PC."

I love Google translate.

Noooo!!! I was so exited that this game would come out on PC at the same time. I wanted to buy the Black Edition on PC. Hope they'll listen to our arguments (flashed xbox numbers, not resolving piracy problems)!

This link doesn't even go to an article about Assassin's Creed 2?

There has been no news about it being delayed on PC either?
