Nidzumi writes: Internet browsers have come leaps and bounds in the last few years in terms of being a gaming platform. Often delivering the experience in the form of a flash arcade clone or an in-depth RPG requiring a 50MB client before being able to play it. Quake Live is seemingly a significant jump, offering a full, graphically capable, online multiplayer first person shooter for no price at all. To add greater insult to injury it's all delivered in a 5MB browser plugin. Too good to be true?
I aint played it since Quake 2 and that was 10 years ago (give or take)
Edit. Im not knockin it its cool people still play it its just Quakes a brand name that went away - got 4gotten
I do but I've grown an addiction to WoW and TF2 and a little CSS and UE3 on the side ;)
I mean isn't Wolfenstein ET free and that's a multiplayer game
and if your looking for Singleplayer then The Ur Quan masters will do of you with taste. One of the best games ever made.
Because while awesome , and the last good fast paced game requiring actuall skills (and with now every damn titles ,being some squad team based realistic or pseudo realistic kind of games ) :
1 . I dont want to play in a browser windows . ( i'm the kind that constaly crash firefox because of too many tabs and windows )
2 . I dont want to play Quake 3 over and over and want a damn good quake 5 instead ( i dont think 4 count ) . I'd eventually consider a remix on PSn and XBL but that's it .
But I am a quake 'hardcore' I guess. I have been playing q3 since Nov 03.
And although Quake Live is lag fest (compared to old q3) it still kept the
BEST, and still the most FUN, FAST and SKILLFUL fps ever made alive, so I play alot.......between my WoW addiction lol.
Oh and @HELSVACANCY.......quake forgotten? Tell that to Quake Con which is every year and the THOUSANDS of great players that still play.
