Threespeech mentioned that there'd be some exciting news for the Playstation Store, and it seems like they may have been right.
"Over the next few weeks, some new and exciting changes will take place in the PLAYSTATION®Store. In preparation for this, both PLAYSTATION®Network and PLAYSTATION®Store need to be taken offline for a short while to allow us to carry out the upgrade and maintenance work.
This is scheduled to take place between 16:00 and 19:00 BST (17:00-20:00 CEST) on Tuesday 8th May 2007.
We are hoping to complete this work in as short a time as possible and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. But remember that these enhancements are paving the way for new and exciting content that we have planned for the Store!"

aha that name still makes me laugh...don't know why. I'm relieved that sony is taking online seriously this generation. So far the online is nice but i hope sony removes all the pop-ups. Like when you try to download something it brings up a user agreement which you are obviously going to accept right so why put it there everytime.

Yeah most would agree, but the EULA's have to be there for the same reason Hairdryer mfgs. have to have a label stating that you shouldn't use it in the shower. People are dumb yo.

I'm just happy Sony is working on stuff. It's getting better ALL the time now. I don't know why you have to downplay that.
7.1: Where's the desperation? Seems you're "a bit desperate" to defend such a suky service. Instead of defending it y'all should demand more from Sony. They changed the boomerang controllers (perhaps) due to consumer woes.
And I'd like to know what "trouble" you're talking about as far as GoW online??? I know of no issues except for software-based glitches, which ALL online games are subject to (ever heard of Counter-Strike?).
7.2: Do you really think Home will put PSN on or above XBL's level?? I'm not knocking it I think it's a great concept. But there will still be cross-game communication issues, etc.
Its the store they are referring too and thats why its irrelevant when you mentioned that its NOT the multiplayer player service. All 8+ comments before you mentioned nothing about the multiplayer service but a hope that they will keep improving the service. Stick to the topic and leave your negativity to another post that talks about the multiplayer aspect of the service....
Do you even have a PS3? I don't think so. I have a PS3 and a 360 and I have XBL gold.
The hosting system for games on XBL is seriously flawed and lame - and you have to PAY FOR IT. With all the money they are charging you really think they could afford some servers.
When you can play Gears with 39 of your friends for free then you can say that XBL owns all, but not before.

it always struck me as strange how xbots try to talkdown psn. have any ever used it or did biily tell them that?psn is free, its lag free , it has dope demo's, downloadable ps1 games, chat,friends,avatars,messaging , video chat and home is on the way. home is a HUGE leap, M$ has never changed anything that much . psn gives constant updates for the psn,xmb, and firmware almost monthly. ive seen all that M$ has to offer its works but im not impressed, i rather see what sony will create over the next 3 years.
Each one has good points, neither one is better at the moment when you look at what each network is offering for different types of people.
And when Home comes out, i doubt it will be hard to figure out the better one.

a beta is like a demo in alot of ways that is released by a developer to get feedback, suggestions of improvements and reports of bugs that need ironing out, this beta/demo is playable, there are closed beta's like "home" at the the moment that is open to a select few people and open beta's that are downloadable for anyone, this is something that is quite new but will be done alot more in the future because of user generated content...

I've heard that Xbox live is pretty frickin' sweet, but so far I've been pretty darned happy with PSN. The demos have been useful in terms of getting an impression about how the games will be (Ninja Gaiden Sigma!) and the video previews are in way better quality than anything you'd download on the intarweb. Sony seems to be keen on pushing this thing and I support them completely.

Im lookin forward to Calling all cars, Super Star Dust, and Snake ball..i want them to put more PS1 classic game parasite eve, silent hill and etc PSN can only get better.. When the games start dropping for the PS3 a lot more people be interested in the PS3 and will start selling better..there already 5 games im lookin forward thats only exclusive to the PS3..lair, Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ratchet and clank, Uncharted Drakes Fortune and Warhawk.oh yeah folks soul they better bring it here to NA.Also there multiplaforms games too..Sony probaly be announcing rumble back this e3!! hopefully their be a price drop next year so people can afford the ps3 too.
I too would love to see some SquEnix games on PSN! However, it appears that SquEnix recently told Nintendo that they weren't all that interested in online distribution... I hope it's a Nintendo only thing...

I got this game yesterday, It took about 4 seconds for my wife to grab the controler out of my hand to start playing.
If they're taking both PSN and PSS down for 3 hours, we can expect some maintenance but also some nice upgrades. And not only content.

does anybody use the datel communicator headset for ps3? im on my second one, and when i use it, i can talk, but i cant hear anybody. does anybody have any suggestions? (the input and output are both set to the headset, so that's not the problem)
