GamesCom Will be Lost this Year

Capcom has made it clear that they'll be showcasing the PS3 version of Lost Planet 2, at next week's GamesCom convention. The PS3 version has been predominately kept in the dark, until recently, Capcom announced a PS3 version to the once exclusive Xbox 360 game.

The original on the PS3 was just not as good compared to the xbox 360 and PC versions. I enjoyed the game, but without a doubt it had more issues on the PS3 - particularly frame rate issues.

But if recent history is any indication, I think Capcom has their PS3 programming pretty much up to par with the other platforms (RE5 - I'm looking at you).

Everybody should get to enjoy the awesomeness that is blowing up huge bugs.

Lost Planet 2 is easily one of my most anticipated games to get my hands on. I'm pumped for the demo this week to try it with a few buddies.

I like how the only thing though on N4G people seem to care about for this game is the console it will be on or won't be on. Stop pretending you trolls and fanboys give a nut about this game and go back to the HHG threads where you belong.

This game will be a sleeper hit. :)

It was originally announced for the 360, with no mention of the PS3. Sure, common sense tells us that it was going to be multiplatform all along... But if we had none of that, like some people here don't, and just went by the information fed to us by the developers and media, it was very much a 360 exclusive for a while. In fact, if you type in "Lost Planet 2 360 exclusive" in Google, plenty of people believed it.

Now I'm not sure if there was any point in that, or if I just rambled on about nothing like I tend to, but I don't care. :p

N4G witnessed many threads arguing how LP2 was a 360 exclusive and how excited the 360 fanbase was about its visuals. As soon as it was announced (E3) multiplat all the excitement just vanished.

BTW, I hope Capcom do a quality job with PS3 LP2. Time for substandard ports is over. Batman:AA is a good example that a dedicated team can do marvels even with a no so exceptional engine (UE3).

the ps3 community here started bashing the game because it was announce for the 360 first. they insulted it. and then after it was re-announced for the ps3 as well they started liking the game. just like MGS:R when it was announced ps3 owners thought it would suck because it was a 360 only. after it was announced for ps3. they started to like it.

Has anyone seen any word on splitscreen? I feel that I'm having a bit of a renaissance with splitscreen gaming... Army of Two was a ton of fun with a buddy, and I'd love to be able to do the same here. With Army of Two 2 pushed to January, I need my local coop fix!

played Lost Planet on PS3 and really enjoyed the game play hope it stays the same but the story was all messed up and the ending doesn't make much sense like the guy shoots the scientist responsible but it fades to black when it happens making us think he's dead just so after the girl and brother defrost the planet we see hes alive with no memory like WTF happened the girl was almost near him before he shot the scientist did he just wander off or something really WTF happened but still good game needs more blood and gore do

I have no idea why you guys are looking forward to LP2. LP1 is a 5 out a 10 for me. The worst current gen game i played.

crapcom is really crappy this gen. I think because they closed down clover and they are still using a last gen engine.

It is really really sad the sate of Capcom games this gen for me. Last gen the jump from PS1 to PS2 was enourmous with games like DMC, Ominusha and RE4. I expected the same this gen but there really has been nothing great from Capcom sofar for me. I hope they don't mess up a new Okami or Ominusha.

Lost Planet was pretty good...it had some issues, mostly movement was too slow for the type of gameplay imo, but it was still fun, LP2 looks amazing and the 4 player co-op should be a blast. I've played worst games this gen, like say off the top of my head Timeshift and plenty others that I felt bad for friends who actually spent money on some terrible games.

They said they've made improvements based on the feedback from the original LP so far, it looks alot better... I'm definitely getting 360 version LP2 day one.

I never liked Lost Planet either, don't get me wrong it's nowhere near the worst game I've played this gen, but it just never sat right with me. Lost Planet 2 will probably be more of the same, in different locations. I doubt it's going to change anyone's mind about the franchise, but it does look like it's going to have a lot more content since Capcom know how popular the franchise is now.

Game was never an exclusive nor was it ever planned to be one (after all, the game is coming out simultaneously on the PS3 and 360). The only reason why it was announced for the 360 first was due to a marketing arrangement between MS and Capcom which forbade Capcom from announcing a PS3 version until E3.

We probably would have been able to see Lost Planet 2 running for the PS3 at E3 had it not been for the Swine flu scare which kept Capcom from showcasing many of their games (like Dead Rising 2). The reason why LP2 was at the show for the 360 was due to the fact that it was already announced.
