PCGH has benchmarks of the Darkest of Days demo. According to their results the additional GPU accelerated Physx effects are most challenging for the hardware. A Core 2 Quad with 2.7 GHz and a Geforce GTX 280 doesn't even reach a single frame per second if the Physx effects are calculated on the CPU and not the GPU.
