Xbox 360 gamers are not happy with how Microsoft is treating the "Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood" DLC problem

A new map pack was released for Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood on August 6, 2009. After accidentally releasing the DLC for free on Xbox Live, the downloadable content appears to be broken. Gamers are paying 800 points and not being able to download the map pack. After three days the problem still remains.

I just dont understand how you 360 guys and girls put up with Microsoft this gen. I read a thread earlier of some guy who went through 9 xboxes. Seriously, we as gamers should not stand for any of this crap. I've never had an xbox, and I dont think I'll be getting one anytime soon. But I just find it confusing how some people keeping going back to MS for more.

Microsoft has created a big mess out of all of this. They should pay the price.

I'll agree that I dont like the MS point system too. 1600 points for $20 isnt right. Nintendo charges you $20 for 2000 points, and sony doesnt even have a points system. Its not that big of a deal but I dont really like either...

and no...the point system for xbl is simply to confuse individuals and impose a different thought process to the value associated with whatever you are buying...its text book ad procedure these days...you see a number like 800...can't quickly correlate it with a direct monetary value, and become vulnerable to an impulse purchase...that is EXACTLY what the point system is there to do...

its not 'bad'...but its definitely NOT there to make the system user friendly, or to 'help' the end consumer...don't act surprised, MS never puts the end consumer first...they put business partners and shareholders first...always...

There is a bonus to the MS points system, by shopping around you can actually pick up a 2100 points card cheaper, saving money. Plus the prices are slightly more expensive on the PS3, however this is more than leveled out by the ridiculous cost of Live.

They get royally F'ed in the ass by Microsoft every single time they purchase more than a single Xbox 360 console due to technical hardware issues related with the RRoD (everytime they go out for another console after a previous unit defaults on them is like them spreading their cheeks for MS saying "Don't stop. Don't stop"), yet they don't seem to mind enough to really voice their concerns and build some consumer-rooted rally against Microsoft (much like the new consumer backlash against Activision now).

Yet now when it comes to some $10 DLC issue, they all decide to voice their displeasure against that like it is such an egregious Ponzi Scheme or something.

Who is to blame? Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood developer Techland and publisher UBISoft claims it is the fault of Microsoft. Gamers have tried to contact Microsoft and the results are not very good. The Xbox and Call of Juarez fan forums are lighting up with anger over how this situation is being treated. Gamers are paying $10 and receiving nothing in return.

The DLC is UBI, the price is set by UBI, MS just houses the DLC on Live's servers. Fallout 3 had problems with DLC and is up to the devs to fix it. This is the problem of the publisher and developer, if the price was 0 and then set to 800 msp then it's on UBI for MS does not set the price for third party content. IF you Sony fans used a bit of logic, you wouldn't look so foolish when you write articles like this and then stampede in to post.

and where are you getting that MS doesn't set the 'price' on 3rd party content?...Epic said otherwise, specific to UT3...NOT gears...that MS imposes price points for all XBL content...and that was one reason Epic made the agreement with Sony to have UT3 as a timed exclusive...ms wanted NOTHING to do with 360 users being able to share free user made content for UT3 over XBL...they instead wanted Epic to hand pick the 'best' of the UGC, and then put it on the marketplace at a price...read through the countless articles and interviews with mark rein about it...it doesn't get any more obvious than that...

Kleptic you're talking about mods not DLC, and MS only makes suggestions on price for third party content they do not set it. A little research with http://www.google.com or http://yahoo.com goes a long way. The timed exclusive for UT3 was because Epic was trying to set up mods for Live. If Ubisoft and Techland INTENDED for the DLC to be free....why the hell didn't they put "FREE" in the official title of the content, so MS couldn't legally charge for it? If you just give DLC to MS, and leave it up to them, OF COURSE they're going to charge for it. Ubisoft also could have provided a universal "Redeem code", so all gamers could just download it for free.

As for the technical issue....that will get worked out. If I'm not mistaken, 8/6 was the day Live had some problems last week.

Now naturally i call M$ customer service and they say "were currently looking into the situation" and i asked when do you think you'll get it fixed and she said "i'm not sure wer still looking for the problem" i was like WTF the problem is i paid 10 dollars for nothing !!!!
