"Just now looking at the USA Xbox Live Marketplace, it appears that some Games On Demand are Live. Contradicting with the original list of games, there is also Bioshock and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) available for purchase. The full list of available titles is as follows:"

I honestly think this is the future of games, much like Itunes for music and Steam for PC gaming. Of course, when I say this, I don't necessarily mean Games on Demand specifically, just the concept.

I don't think this will do very well for the 360 just because the average user doesn't have enough HD space to make it their main form of buying games. However, when the next wave of consoles come out, don't be surprised if every game is available from launch online and retail games slowly go the way of music cds.

Now personally I really enjoy buying games and getting a physical copy of what I am purchasing but if Itunes and Steam are any indication, I am in the minority.

Only if they undercut retail prices...Physical CDs cost more than digital copies because there's an intrinsic value to having a physical copy...with full resale rights.

Well I kind of assume they will undercut retail prices because the middleman is completely removed. Have you seen game prices on Steam lately? They have some RIDICULOUS sales. Makes me feel bad every time I pay $15 bucks for a PSN game haha. Still worth it for some though.

I'm almost 100% sure I can get used copies of these from Gamestop for way cheaper. I can also rent them for a fraction of the cost.

Explain to me why I would pay more on old games? If it's to save me a few minutes to drive somewhere to get a physical copy then you are sadly off your rocker Microsoft. Lower the prices to half of what each is going for or at least 7 bucks a piece.

Either way this option of getting games isn't for me since my Xbox 360 only has a 20GB hard drive that I can't cheaply update since Microsoft wants to rip me off on that aspect too.

MS really sucks at pricing their marketplace... downloadable games will never catch on when you dont own a tangible product and have to pay a lot more for it.... they need to learn from the app store...cause i have no problem spending money on games that cost 2 to 3 bucks, and have sales all the time... gets me looking and checking and buying all the time.

If these dont sell on xbox live Microsft probably would lower the price .

Another good thing is the games link to your gamer tag you keep the game forever .

Microsoft changes things forever .

i don't see why people would be so quick to buy these on xbox live the prices aren't really special is convenience really worth the price?

like bioshock is 30 bucks on this thing
the physical bioshock + oblivion combo cost the same at stores

you can also buy perfect dark for 10 bucks or less
and so on for allot of the mentioned games

i wouldn't mind buying em from xbox live if the games were cheaper

NegativeCreepWA2932d ago (Edited 2932d ago )

Why don't you people quit blaming MS when every game they published is up for $20.00. Blame the publishers.

jack who2932d ago

price them lower and am in

shutupandplay2932d ago

I`m probably one of the few left who like to have something physical to show for my purchase. Collector at heart.
