Halo Wars Fights On While Civilization Revolution Fades Away

The Goozex Report breaks down two of the top real time simulation games for the Xbox 360 and provides excellent arguments for both Civ Rev and Halo Wars. Quotes from the article include, "But then I kind of mastered the game and it became repetitive. And a little boring. And the cool moments of creating certain wonders or blasting into space lost its shine after building them for the umpteenth time. I moved on fairly quickly..." And this one about Halo Wars, "I like to take my time, strategize, and then unleash unholy hell upon my enemies. The campaign really doesn't reward you for planning, instead, it rewards you for fast action."

I was a huge fan of Civ Rev. It was a shame it took so long to complete a match.

JimmyJames702939d ago

That's true. Civ Rev can take 3 to 4 hours to play while Halo Wars could be 45 min to a couple hours.

Oddly enough, the Xbox 360 is become the home of strategy games on the console. I never would have seen that coming...

I agree. I play halo wars, Endwar and Civ Rev. But not so much C&C. I think that has just too much micro-managing to actually play on the console without a mouse.

Won't be long till the Droids feel enraged with hate and remourse that the 360 has so much more RTS games than the PS3 and have to come into here kicking and screaming.

expect to see ignorant comments from the Droids like:

"ask a 360fanturd what Civilization even is and there'd be a huge question mark on there faces"

or

"they bought Halo Wars because it had Halo in it"

or

"if they enjoy strategy games, why don't they have command and conquer red alert, Civilization Revolution, Tom Clancy's End War"

also lets not forget the ever so classic

"what ever Halo, 360 fanboys reach out and buy it, I think they should release a Halo dildo because they already have Gay Tony coming to the 360"

If you find any one of these comments located here, you have found yourself a PS3 Droid...If you find one that has used ALL of these comments, be aware, these are the most delusional, ignorant, and upset about their purchase that they have to lash out at everything not pro PS3 related kind of Droid. These are the ones that are secretly in denial about their sexuality and tend to stay locked up in the closet and feel that acting out and hiding it in a fanboyish way, they won't be discoved as being completely gay.

Well, it's pretty obvious to people who know me that I'm no fan of Civ, but I wonder if I'd even enjoy Halo Wars. Unfortunately, I don't have the points to pick this game up on Goozex.com, but I bet I could find it used for pretty cheap. If it annoys as much as other RTS games, I could just trade it on Goozex and get something else. I mean, it's worth 1000 points.

Halo Wars really doesn't have a learning curve or a Tech tree that you have to follow. It does have some specialty units depending on your leader, but that's easy to pick up on. The only thing you really have to master is issuing quick commands to get your troops moving. After that, it's all about pummeling, or getting pummeled.

i'm a pretty big rts fan and thats what put me off really, it's a good game for ppl who wanna get into rts (and chances are if they are getting an rts for a console then most will be new to the genre) but for me i want more depth to rts
