The sweet bit of honey that I have chosen to bite off of this week's episode of EpicBattleCry is the question 'What makes a good gaming console good?' What struck me most about this topic on the show was that somehow the Viking trio forgot to talk about the fundamental core of the issue. The conversation on the show revolved almost exclusively around additional content services on the console, such as Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, and Playstation Home. It is easy to see how a conversation such as this would head in that direction, given the recent attention being paid to adding those types of services to the console., but lest we forget that a gaming console is built for, well, playing games. That is what our generally insightful audio sooth sayers neglected to discuss. What makes a good gaming console a good gaming console?
