SFX-360 writes: "Our collective breaths continue to be held at SFX 360 over the course of the past few months while we wait ever so patiently for the return of our favorite first person shooter and blond bounty hunter on the Nintendo Wii. Developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo, Metroid Prime Trilogy is thankfully still slated for release on August 24th, 2009. The game promises to bring all of the action from Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (originally for the GameCube) and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption in one shiny package, complete with upgraded Wii controls for the first two entries in the series. You play as bounty hunter Samus Aran, who takes on the Space Pirates and other enemies with the help of her Power Suit and devastating arm cannon. Nothing intergalactic has gotten us so hyped since three emcees (and one deejay) hit Japan a few years back.
Just like MCA, Mike D, and Ad-Rock, Samus Aran also has the skills to pay the bills. Time and time again, on every platform and venue she has been on, Samus has proven herself a menacing force to be dealt with by gamers and critics alike. The Metroid games in general continually stretch the patience and difficulty factors for casual gamers, making the overall experience that much more memorable and the games' completions satisfying. You know that feeling of accomplishment that overtakes your twitchy little fingers while they're still glued to the Wii Remote, a collective sigh for your whole body that puts you at ease because you've just beaten Ridley or Dark Samus or every other living being in Smash Brothers Brawl? That's why we're looking forward to Metroid Prime Trilogy. We've been there before, but the jonventure was such an awesome experience that we can't get enough… we need our fix. August 24th cannot come soon enough..."
