IGN: Cheers & Tears: PS3 Strategy Games

This week IGN is taking a look at the PS3's strategy game library. Frankly, it isn't that robust, so instead of giving you five good games and five bad they are actually giving you five good games and four bad ones.

The story is too old to be commented.

First of all, Disgaea 3 in the "Tears" (games to avoid) category? That's insane, it's an absolutely brilliant, addictive, deep, and very fun game. There were 5 good games in their "Cheers" (good games) list, and there could have easily been others. Particularly Disgaea 3, which certainly should not be avoided and removing it from the "tears" list would reduce that list down to a measly 3 games.

Fat Princess could be considered a Strategy game. That's another good one. It's basically a real-time strategy game, but instead of one person controlling everything for your faction, there are 16 people controlling individuals on each team. But it plays like any other RTS. You acquire resources and upgrade your base and units and then you send people out to capture outposts, etc. It's basically an RTS where each unit is controlled by an individual.

Savage Moon is another brilliant tower defense strategy game.

You've got Worms and Age of Booty too.

I think there are plenty of good strategy games on the PS3 right now.
