How many gamers can claim that they've through a game blind? Well, that's exactly what one man is attempting, although it's not by choice.
=( sad, i couldnt finish a game blind if i wanted to
Best of luck to him. By the way if anyone is wondering, he plays by a script written out by 5 hardcore Zelda fans.
yea i think i heard that, nice to know that there are at least some nice people helping him out, i hope he gets through the game
Blind people can do some pretty amazing things. http://www.youtube.com/watc... Unfortunately Zelda is all text and no speech though.
gameon, saw the video, thats amazing!
RIP http://www.youtube.com/watc... (see game on's video)
wow i couldn't beat that game with vision.
weak, how long ago did that happen? RIP
Um...I've blind hacked my phone when the screen broke so that I could fish out all my contacts and saved messages onto my PC. Does that count? Probably not...much respect to a fellow gamer.
Didn't realise he died, poor kid.
RIP. I remember when I saw a documentation on him. I had no idea that he died.
It would be very interesting to see him do the underwater stages lol. Some very frustrating moments.
how? I mean bosses sure move around and sometimes you have to aim for the little spots.... I'm baffled.
hope he gets through it and really cool that people are also helping him out. good luck to him!
Wow props to this guy. This is the definition of impressive.
Actually, this is the definition of stupid. What's the point of following the exact button combination that someone laid out for you? Isn't that the exact opposite of what gaming is about? Nothing against him having fun, I think it's great that people are willing to help him. I just doubt that he's really having fun. It's like a guy with no legs trying to ride a bicycle. On the other hand, if they made custom videogames for the blind - like they make special bikes that you pedal with your arms - with specific sound effects and all, that I would get.
Hes blind and hes beating a video game as complex as Ocarina of Time. I hope you heartless bastards that disagreed with me get what's coming to you.
1. Does it matter which videogame you beat with which handicap? If you're not having fun then what's the f-ing point? 2. If you really think that he is having fun, (I hope he is, but I seriously doubt it) then hook up your N64 to your speakers and follow the same instructions he does. Now compare this to any number of things you can do blindfolded (music, audiobooks, sex). Not that great, is it?
Wonderful, just wonderful. Inspiration, as is the current blind Paralympian on Dancing with the Stars in Australia.
BRO FIST, DUDE
If he beats the game I think that would be the greatest game accomplishment ever
Coolest news of the day by far! God speed man!! You can do it!!
This guy seriously deserves some respect.
thats awesome, ill admit i laughed when i first read the headline and then i wondered, "whats the point? he cant see whats going on" but im sure the music and sound effects make it worth playing. Cool stuff.
If hes blind how does he even know he likes the series? It's all very visual. Maybe if he could see he'd be like "Link needs a no fear t-shirt, stooooopid".
I cant imagine trying to play video games with out being able to see. If he really does this then It would be one of the craziest things that I didnt think could be done. This guys got skills if he can get the korki sword while blind.
That's wicked!! Best of luck with the water temple m8, that one took me ages to beat!
this kind of thing is something that i support you can do it!
Wow! He's doing things that i din't even know about. What i don't understand is how he got that sword so effortlessly. I am in awe of this video. If he beats ganon then someone at GDC or E3 needs to give this guy an award next year.
