In this week's episode of Accelerated Gaming, TheGamerAccess.com talks about Metal Gear Rising and if the 360 is truly holding the PS3 back.
360 holding back the PS3? *looks at the graphics in Alan Wake, Gears 2, etc.* *looks at the graphics in Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, etc.* Hahahahahha! In multiplatform games, sure (multiple developers have already confirmed this, including a certain developer of a certain car-jacking open-world game). But in general? Nope, the PS3 is blazing ahead with or without the 360's help.
I think the many comparisons that usually show the 360 version as better proves that it's not. I love it that the PS3 has the problem and then the 360 gets the blame for holding it back. I mean the PS3 can't even match the 360 in Battlefield 1943! HAHAHAHAHA It happens far too much from a wide variety of devs to be blamed on being lazy.
Stop talking nonsense. Its not that the devs are lazy. Its just that for most multiplats, the game is made for the 360, then ported to the ps3. Hence the ps3 version doesnt look as good. But when the game is made for the ps3 from the ground up, well... that is when something like killzone 2 happens.
I'll go as far as to say that the 360 is even holding itself back. What I mean is that the DVD space limits have only led to DLC and minimal content increases over the years. Had the 360 used the HD-DVD discs which held more at least we would have had things better in the game world. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if they released Modern Warfare 2 or your next favorite game releasing this year in 2 different versions for the same price - one being on a single DVD or a second "expanded" version filling 3 or 4 discs with the game, you would have to be a compulsive liar to try to say the one disc version is better.
Oh this is not going to end well.
