THQ boss Brian Farrell just confirmed that Red Faction: Guerrilla has now sold more than 1 million units.
These game definitely deserves these sales.
I love the physics and graphically it's up there with any open world game we've seen so far. I'm still only on Dust Sector but am gradually getting farther as I love to just have fun in open world games and do the story as I get to it. Haven't even touched the MP yet. *sigh* Not enough hours in the day.
RFG was great, but it could have been so much more. I'm looking forward to a sequel that fills in the gaps. I want a better story. I want large building to destroy. I want the building to be made of metal instead of paper-mache. I want less time spent driving around and more time shooting.
Running around with my hammer and explosives is some of the most fun I have had recently in gaming. Watching a big structure come tumbling down....Ahhhh Very much like Christmas!
Didn't like the demo of the game. It didn't "feel" like Red Faction so I didn't bother with it. I've heard many positives about it and I'll probably give it a rental and check it out some more but from what I saw of the demo, there was little to no appeal for me with this game.
make sure to rent it. A good game with lots of fun to be had.
I still haven't played this one. I think I'll pick it up on PC when it comes out.
Thinking about buying this next month looks good I heard its underrated.
great to see finally one THQ game doing somehow well this year. i agree that this game deserves it! a solid singleplayer, AMAZING Multiplayer, never seen before Physics and therefore no mind blowing BUT good graphics I hope we get to see another title in the series sometime...
I was thinking about picking this up but I want to know what makes the multiplayer so amazing? Are there certain modes that havent been offered before or are the multiplayer maps well designed? Sort of like how Battlefield 1943 sh!ts on Bad Company because of the flawless map layout.
this game is not a FPS. Its 3rd person sandbox game. I didnt play the multi but I really enjoyed the single player. Defiantly worth at least a rent.
While fanboys were comparing between inFamous and Prototype (inFamous), actual people were buying the other game so they wouldn't hear them.
Hd gamers (360+PS3) will buy anything. Just shows that they're taste in games are pretty bad. *well back to TCon and TvC*
It deserves those sales numbers ! It's a hidden treasure and I'm glad I bought it
Happy to hear this as it's an awesome game. I'll be looking forward to the sequel.
I personally was really disappointed with Red Faction, once I got past the wow I can blow that up! I just didn't find it very compelling. & also in my opinion the art style was bland. I can understand why some like it, but I found it shallow and it didn't hold my interest, sold already.
This is one of those games that when you play it you can sense the enormous amount of work that has gone into developing it. I hope it sells well enough for Volition to make another game in the series.
Wish it had sold more. The destruction technology and the fun it creates by realistic destroying of buildings is beyond anything similair in any other game and deserves to be used in every game from now on (The Geo Mod 2 tech).
this games good but bad in alot of ways. its like GTA but 10x worse, but the only thing that saves it is the destruction. there arent even that many buildings to destroy anyways everything is so seperated and theres only like 10 buildings per sector, exept eos which has like 20
1. yeah right...its not a FPS (sorry for that fault) but i think its fair to say it "plays" a lot like one (since im always zooming in when i shoot someone....maybe thats why i got it wrong!?) anyway.... 2. it has six MP game modes (CTF, TDM, Siege...) and you´ve got "wrecking crew" which is a up to 4 player splitscreen mode where you just destroy everything on the map (the player with the highest score wins) then there are the backpacks for Online mode,a bunch of awesome weapons (including the ostridge hammer ;-)) and much more. i mean: i was never THAT into red faction...but this one is just fun!
