This is not one of those little crummy trailers floating about the web the past few days, showing a Mech's foot in a bombed out city. No, this is the first actual trailer showing the actual Mech walking and shooting and thrashing about in that city.
3 minutes of one on one combat! The HD rebirth of Mechwarrior for the PC and Xbox 360.

Want me to bring up the development history of guerilla games?
Not to mention it's being co-developed by smith and tinker who is founded by the gentlemen that created the battleTech series and the original founder of fasa studios.
Also, the battleTech series (MechWarrior and MechAssault) as well as crimson skies and shadowrun are all owned by Microsoft.
I wasn't talking about platforms, I was more talking about the fact their games are crap.
@Xi
People did bring up Guerilla's previous games, you can only go on a developer's past.
Smith and Tinker was founded by Jordon Wiesman and they are directly working in tandem with Pirahna games to develop MechWarrior. The team behind Smith and Tinker are well known for the creation of the original Fasa Studios who's work includes MechWarrior 1-4, BattleTech, Crimson Skies & high road to revenge, the original shadow-run, MechAssault, as well as an assortment of pen and paper RPG's that are extremely popular to this date. Almost all of the games that Jordon Wiesman has worked on have become global successes, and have been both critially and publically praised. At Microsoft, Jordan was the Creative Director for the entire entertainment business unit which included all PC and Xbox titles. While there, he conceived of the pioneering transmedia non-linear storytelling experience for Steven Spielberg's movie A.I. Artificial Intelligence, which has spawned a whole new genre of interactive entertainment called Alternate Reality Games. He has won more than one hundred awards, including election to the game designer's hall of fame by the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design. He's also written books that have gone on to become NYT best sellers.
Pirahna games, while being over 9 years old, also rececently released the Transformers game, probably giving them more experience into developing large robot/mech game then anyone else. it's a perfect fit for them to develop mechwarrior as they can already use much of what they learned to help develop a better more polished experience. Unlike movie games that require a strict deadline, they will be given a lot more advantages to developing mechwarrior, a more lienent deadline, a thriving community for input, and they wont have to follow the plot of an aweful movie. Along with working with Smith and Tinker, I have no doubt in the quality of the game.
And like I said, it's not the first time a developer of 'bad' games delivers something amazing. Not everyone can be a bungie, blizzard or valve when it come to quality.
Woow it's sooo freakin good that i have a ps3 + a gaming pc.. i have played gears, lost planet, mass effect, halo ...
PERFECT combination!!!
If you're want to make money, hit as many platforms as you can if it's feasible.
I have a pc, ps3, psp, xbox 360, wii......C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!!!
Watch the trailer and then read the disclaimer at the end because you will see that Microsoft has a lot of the MechWarrior assets even if they no longer own the IP.
I only played the 3rd one but I'm a big fan of the MechCommander series. I still have Mechcommander 1 and 2. BTW, I don't know if anyone could play a real Mech Warrior game on a console. No doubt it would look awesome but the controls could stop it from being great. Heck, I had trouble commanding a mech with mouse and keyboard.
I hope it all plays this good. If so, day one purchase on pc.
Reported duplicate.
2 days old news. Same fake CGI footage and the game will turn out to be like Armored core 4 .

Yea it says, In game footage. This is gameplay brah.
And, as mentioned above, with Jordon Wiesman (see 1.6) the game is going to **PLAY** great too.
You could always play this: http://www.metacritic.com/g...
sak500 is an Xbot much like yourself you fvcking mongoloid.
@ Below: What ever makes you sleep better at night buddy. As for me, i will be playing it on my 360 and i will be enjoying every minute of it.
That game was awesome on consoles, and mechassault?
http://www.metacritic.com/g...
it's the best mech game released on a console ever. Sure it's more arcade then sim but it's still a really fun, really good game.
because nearly all mech games on consoles are crap.
games.
If they allowed the use of the racing wheel with the game.
This game will phail for 360....None of those kids on XBL have any idea the history of this game or the impact it ensues. Both mechwarriors for the xbox phailed. Mechwarrior is a PC centric game. The combination of hotkeys and weapon settings and such. If this game is anything like MW3...or 4 I will scream with joy. I just hope that the console version doesn't hold it back in anyway.
you wouldn't be saying "phail" if it was announced for ps3 as well. stfu. i hate bitter sony fanboys that are fanboys first and gamers second. anyone with a half a brain knows you are nothing but a ps3 fanboy. guess you just pissed like the rest of the sony camp on here that 2010 is looking awesome for 360, while for ps3 2010 is still up in the air, with the exception of god of war 3.
sorry that you are so hateful about 360 and it's success. maybe you need to own both consoles, then you may not be so hateful all the time. this game will be great for pc and 360. don't be all mad because the ps3 is getting left out in the cold AGAIN.
anyways like i said, this game is going to rock on pc and 360. it will be a success, sorry this hurts the "other side" on here. great trailer, and will be keeping my eyes on this game.
the game has several classes of mechs. Heavy mechs like the 2 shown do just that, but the game is designed to be based more on tactics. They're the equivelent of tanks in a battlefield.
However other mechs feature jump packs and can scale buildings, they also move faster and are more scout like, but lack the weapons and armor. Buildings are used for cover but can be destroyed and will likely damage you.
Think of it as a flight sim game, meshed with a battlefield game and with mechs. Each mech has it's role and each mech can hold their own if they're smart.
Mw4 is abit hazy. But I still have Mw3...Yeah it would basically be a slugfest of which mech could outgun there other but thats only the heavy mechs. Like for instance the 2 mechs shown were a Thor (fav mech imo) and an atlas....Both of em are heavy mechs and usually the stronger more heavily armored mechs. The other mech they showed. The firefly.... had no arms and had a jetpack thats more of a scouting mech and not ment for combat. But basically for the PC version it would be your mech and you had the option of having 3 additional fully computer controlled allied mechs. For the most part they held their own but it would allow you to diversify your mech squad in that you could have 2 heavies for strong....a Madcat for the LRMs and a firefly or a owens to find the other mechs. And this would lead to some serious and epic mech battles. especially online. And all this could only be done with a mouse and keyboard. Theres just too many controls in this game to service a controller. This game belongs on the PC and should have never went to consoles. The only way I could see is that they allow usb controlled mouse, keyboard, or joystick...but still.....Again I hope the console version does not gimp the PC version as I can see this being a great addition and reawakening to the franchise.
based on the mech models alone. The player's mech looked like a crane, like that Constructicon Transformer. But the armored giant Skull guy was woefully lame. It might as well be a Godzilla vs. Jet Jaguar game, which would still be cooler than this.
Disagree if ya want, but so far the character design fails to match up to the animated Macross, Gundam, and Battletech series I grew up on. Macross was the ish!!
Lot of PS3 fans in here... go figure.

I love Mechwarrior.
Played the last one on my PC and I plan to do the same with this one (on my upgraded PC).
My only complaint with most mech games is the speed of the mechs. I wish they were more agile like transformers but I know the authentic experience is much much slower. Except for MechAssault, who got it right and was my favorite mech game to date.
This is definitely on my radar is it for 09 or 10?
West always seem to have that more realistic look to them, East makes them seem to have them super agile and more human looking.
I agree, it's interesting to see the cultural differences embodied in these cultural works.
Look at RPGS, battle mechanics aside, WRPG include a lot of English folklore (Tolkeinesque) where JRPG has fantasy that seems less bound by these traditions.
However, if you look at any of the Studio Ghibli films, you'll see the same traditional folklore (and Shinto religion aspects) of Japanese culture. If you watch the films, being a Westerner you might not appreciate it, but these elements of fantasy are as much a traditional characterization as a Fairy would be to a Westerner.
Another must own pc game in my book. If only my brother didn't steal my other MW games. Also I think the pilot should have charged the Atlas at the end then ejected.
@Driv welll I think the atlas was destroyed just from the Warhammer from going critical....Plus mechwarrior has more of that tactical feel in that you can't just dip and dodge everything. You have to use the environment and your allies to corner, flank, and eventually overrun/destroy the enemy. Although i have to agree chromehounds was a sleeper hit for the 360 a great game from what I have played....Not MW but still a great game.
@vagisil........I don't think you read my entire post...I said it doesn't belong on "consoles" meaning both ps3 and 360....I mean maybe if they allowed usb keyboard, mouse, and joystick but still. It belongs on PC and should stay on the PC. Theres just too many controls....I mean none of you would understand as you have never truly played MW for a PC and truly experienced the game. Your console babies and think that every game would work on consoles....Well no there are too many controls...This is why there are no RTS games that are amazing....to many controls and hotkeys. So meh.....oh wait you don't have bubbles to reply back....Maybe thats why your the "fanboy"
http://www.steelbattalion.o...
btw, you still did not answer me about the comp you built almost 10 years ago that can play Crysis (pretty well) as you put it. I am very interested in the this amazing mobo you would of used. Now don't forget, you can just reply, no need to start another comment thread.
As for MW, as usual the PC will be the best place to play it, but if they make a console version it should be decent. To think it will be (held back) is just wrong imho. No need to assume I have never experienced the )true) MW experience, I have played pretty much every MW games made, including the snes ones. And the Mech games on the Xbox where great, nothing like the PC counterparts, but easily the best console mech games attempts ever made.
Honestly I don't remeber the exact parts i used as....it was around 9-10 years ago....The person I built it for has moved to different state and of course I rarely talk to them but next time they ask me any tech savvy stuff I'll ask them.
But back on topic Mechwarrior should really stay a PC game. I am just hoping that they don't lessen the quality of the PC game by having to dev for a console. Thats all. I want this game to be the best it can be not held back by a limited console version. Who knows it may not be affected by the console version at all but I am just praying it doesn't.
And you don't remember the parts you used because its BS.
