New gameplay footage from Forza Motorsport 2.
If you don't have a racing wheel?
Since when do you need a wheel? You'll do just fine with/without one.
dude seriously? Of course it's worth buying without the racing wheel. You don't "HAVE" to have the racing wheel for this game to rock. and I so cannot wait for the demo of this game.
Worth buying for dedicated racers that get a thrill from good competition. I would suggest picking up Forza 1 and giving it a go. I bought Forza 1 used for $5.00. Best 5 spot I have EVER spent.
Ya you might buy Forza 1 but during Forza 2 your STI will be smoked by my EVO.. SOrry to say that.. Maybe you should stick to Campagin.. LOL... Have fun watching me win the race...LOL :)
this game looks more and more average.
My exact same thoughts for lair and heavenly sword.
video and saw nothing overly impressive about this game. Really, 311 - 312 cars? Compared to 750 in 'ol GT4. Is that all? Also, the game looks a little generic from an interface standpoint -- Look, I know it's not the final build, but for a May release date it leaves little time for any major upgrades. I know MS fans will love this game, but I'm sorry -- GT looks like the way to go (yet again) for true car coinnesseurs.
750 cars in gt4 may well be good but i bet hardly any of them drove like the real car, ive owned gt and gt2 and it wasnt that good of a racing game the steering was iffy. 310 cars for forza 2 and the physics for these cars will be spot on, still like hell you would drive all 310 cars anyway?....
which included cars like. 1995 civic, 96 civic, 97 civic, etc. That bloated their car list by including the same model with different years. Forza is about the game, and there's no better racing game. goto game rankings and you'll see that forza has the better scores, and trumps GT, not the other way around. Sorry to crush your dreams.
predator -- "750 cars in gt4 may well be good but i bet hardly any of them drove like the real car, ive owned gt and gt2 and it wasnt that good of a racing game the steering was iffy. 310 cars for forza 2 and the physics for these cars will be spot on, still like hell you would drive all 310 cars anyway?" If you're a betting man then you would've lost your wager my friend since all of them drove like the real car. If they didn't and you can prove it, please send me proof of where it states that none of the cars drive like their counterparts in GT4. If you really did own GT and GT2 that meeans that you were interested in the best racing/car game of all time and it wouldn;t make any sense for you to say that the steering was "iffy". Everybody knows that it was one of the most precise translations (physics-wise) for a car game to ever be introduced at the time (as has been written in numerous online sites and professional publications re: cars), so not only are you lying to me, and the room, but to yourself. ============================= =============================== =========== xi - "yeah 750 cars. which included cars like. 1995 civic, 96 civic, 97 civic, etc. That bloated their car list by including the same model with different years. Forza is about the game, and there's no better racing game. goto game rankings and you'll see that forza has the better scores, and trumps GT, not the other way around. Sorry to crush your dreams." That's funny the Civics you mentioned happened to be ....well....cars!lol You're probably just an average gamer, and a much more average car afficianado to boot. When asked what "beaters" were in Forza, the guy ponts to the Trueno which has been in all of the GT series and is a wonderful car to buy and tweak and learn for beginners. You probably don't have a car collecting bone in your body xi, but that's really not as important as you saying..... "goto game rankings and you'll see that forza has the better scores, and trumps GT, not the other way around. Sorry to crush your dreams." This shows that you are hopeless fanboy and an avid follower of anything printed for consumption. The largesse of GT will never be matched by another "car/racing game" I don't say this to be an a-hole or snooty....it's the truth. I'm around high end cars, manufacturers, shows, and industry insiders all the time when it comes to autos, and I can tell you that no brand (in video games) is more respected than Kazanouri Yamauchi's GT series. People from all over the world recognize the game, the polish of the product, and the weight which the name carries. BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Subaru and Nissan have even implemented the game into real world testing because the physics are dead on, razor sharp. Like me and 45 million other users which have made GT the most popular car/racing game of all time on any platform -- I'll see you on the trac mate. You'll probably still be visiting gamerankings.com I presume. And no xi, unless you were to tell me that no more people were being allowed into heaven...You have hardly "crushed" my dreams.lol Oh well... Cheerio!
the cars in gt4 don't get damage. ha,ha,ha!
nice tv on a cheap tv stand.
Funny your comments this one and the bottom on are very very cute to say the least... First you say he was interested in GT2 and GT1.. Well yes he may have liked GT back then when we didn't have any other guy racers out there.. I think Sega GT Barely came out ... Forza was not out back then.. So yes he may have liked GT1 and 2 but times change and better and newer things come along...Plus then you say "Everybody knows that it was one of the most precise translations (physics-wise) for a car game to ever be introduced at the time" Yes look at your last couple of words.. "AT THE TIME" Yes at the time it was good Gt1 and 2 were really good games but like I said TImes change.. Google Gran Turismo Physics and youll see a lot of Under Par comments on their "Killer Physics" Plus the game has an ARCADE mode.. SO yaa thats really a Simulator alright.. Then you attack another person because he says GT bloated their Car size with the same car but diff Generations.. You may say they handle differently and yes I agree with you but most people that play games dont really car if they handle differently they are playing the game to get the best car and tweak it to become the fastest car in the game.. So maybe the 96 civic will be your base car buy by the end of the game you'll never use it again.. Then your last statement I will be saying.. You say its the Best BRAND name out there that noone will take away the prestige and honor that comes with the Brand name of GT.. Well alot of people said that about th Playstation Brand.. Look at it now.. Yeah so Brand names don't really say alot during this day and age.. Please edit your post and try to come up with a way to come off as knowledgeable in your post and actually stating facts instead of your fanboyism in the game.. Because you might say he was a "Fanboy" fist but look at where your at your in a dammn Forza Motosports News Post.. So ya good job with the whole Fanboy comment.. Good job with your comments.. Now go play your Demo of HD GT ok and wait a while longer for your GT5 because by then PGR4 will be out and you'll have to deal with that.. YA Buh Bye :)
Because the framerate is still bad. It stutters too much... Can't wait for the demo!
i never put too much faith in small stutters on a website movie... mainly because of capture stutters and compression problems... if the game was very noticeably stuttering then i'd be concerned, but the minor stutters i think have more to do with the capture process... but we'll know when the demo comes out.
GT is not the best racing game out there to be honest, why is thre no damage or weather in GT? Why are the physics in GT rubbish? Forza Motorsports 2 just keeps on getting better. As for GT4 its rubbish, its GT3 but with better graphics and a few new features. Foza Motosports 2 is a whole new and better game than Forza Motorsports 1. GT5 has to be the true racing game which features a hell of alot of cars, damage system, improved physics, amazing graphics and awesome gameplay.
Your right and I hate how GT is always compared to Forza. Old gen Vs. next-gen first off. Secondly their alot different games and GT's car list is really bloated with alot of lame cars, all the cars in Forza are real sports cars. Also anybody who is going to try and compare GT:HD again please don't. It's a 3D game with 2D textures and one car on the track with no physics, HDR, damage etc. You can all compare GT5 graphically to PGR4
What exactly do you mean when you say GT has no physics? Your other comment about GT having lame cars just proves what Maddens said earlier - there is a big difference between you and someone who really loves cars. Yes, it IS an experience to drive around in an 80's Skyline and compare that to the latest version. It's about the CARS and the driving experience, NOT about racing (only) and scores. Oh, and if GT is just one car on the track, I wonder where those cars on my tail came from!
wow I just started seeing your name popping up everywhere and your already irritating me with your totally one-sided comments. Let's try this again but this time try and stay with me and read what I write. First off I like Gran Turismo, I own 2, 3, and 4. I still play them on a regular basis on my PS2 and PS3, YES I DO own them both. I was referring to and agreeing with someone else about some of the cars in the game. Multiple copies of Civics from different years etc. Forza's 312 car lineup has alot more cars in it that interest me. Also it's my personal opinion to like or dislike the cars in GT so next time respect that rather than tell me I don't like cars. How in the world do you know if I am interested in cars or not? I was also referring to GT:HD and how it's uncomparable to Forza 2, it's not even an actual game, it's a tech demo, with one car on the track and some updated graphics. I say this because it's not fair to compare the two since one is last gen, and one is next gen. It's obvious you will be the one going around with one bubble really soon anyways
I never said you didn't like GT. I pointed out that some of us enjoy having the ability to drive the same car over different years to compare them and see how they became better over their lifespan. I agree that GTHD id not a complete game, but I was speaking more from the franchise's point of view and what their goal is with the GT series. Now, let's go have a beer together, shall we?
alright we agree, beer it is.
And you other Sony fanboys are threatend by GT not being on top, get over it!. Go play GT no one wants to here you venting you envy on this game. At least have the sense to compare GT with PGR series, nothing on the market is on Forza's level.
This is just a poor rip from Gamespot's On The Spot footage, which in itself is something like a month old. Here's a link to the footage: http://www.gamespot.com/pag... It's at about 8 minutes. (You'll need a free account to download it.) Hope this clears some stuff up. The actual video is nothing like that. =)
i am not lying to myself, if i thought the steering was iffy then i thought it was iffy cant any one have a opinion any more, y do you think i didnt get gt3 and gt4 it was all the same nothing new in them and no damage, and the physics wernt spot on. people may agree people may disagree.
The trees especially looked almost as bad as those in Project Gotham Racing 3. I'll also bet the lighting is static and that its the same ole static cloud bitmap that does not move either. Where the hell is all this next gen power!!! Sorry, was expecting more even though its a poor quality video.
Forza 2's highly sophisticated physics engine runs at 360fps providing the most realistic physics yet in a racing sim. The game itself runs at a steady, unwavering 60fps. Damage modeling. Advanced tuning options. Best AI in a racer, period. 4100 layers available for customization. ...just a few 'next-gen' features for you...
...but all that adds up to nothing if the game lacks realism in the visuals dept. The original Forza looked great but the environments felt dead and put me off the game. Its like frame rate drops, clipping or other glitches - anything that can break the illusion ultimately ruins the game (to a degree). I personally couldn't give a damn about having thousands of custom paint jobs and as for the damage modeling, I'll bet its the same ole generic damage. That is , no matter how many times you hit something head on it will result in the exact same looking broken headlight. Forza wont be a crap game but I still feel apart from the cars the graphics just look ok. Finally, imagine how true environmental effects could change your driving during the game. Starting off in good light to move to dusk type conditions or a dry track becoming greasy in places from light showers.
If forza should have pitstop in the future i wouldn,t even look at GT, i watch alot of car racing on TV like GT sreies le-mans etc my spelling might be a bit off but i like the whole pitstop thing its like bringing life to the game, but still i can,t wait for forza 2 its got alot stuff init which i like - not like motorstorm with only 1 feature. IM OUT...///"""
the vid looks really good! i hope the demo will be like this as i will be trying that out first :D
