Forza 3 Lacking Some Features Is It DVD Space Or Is It DLC?

Microsoft just like any other game company wants to make money and DLC has been the answer this gen and it's also competitive against the used game market that Gamestop is notorious for. Now is it possible that this game is being held back on purpose so that Microsoft can make more money from DLC patches adding these features later on in the games life cycle.

PirateThom3028d ago

Forza 3 lacking features ??? he needs to do his homework has all the features from forza 2 and adds a huge amount of new ones.

Real question is if Hip Hop Idiot is lacking a brain ?

Bnet3433028d ago

That sucks if it's because of DVD, but I'm still getting this game solely because of the online community Forza 2 had.

JOLLY13028d ago

HHG at it again. I love all the trolls in here....priceless!

soxfan20053028d ago (Edited 3027d ago )

@JOLLY

I'm sure you realize by now that many PS3 fanboys are scared of Forza 3, and that's why they spam EVERY Forza article with their hate.

You know you've succeeded when you become hated, and Forza is clearly an extremely successful franchise.

Why dis3027d ago

Is this how PS3 fans are comforting themselves because PS3's lineup or lack of one, by bashing the 360's lineup?

FZ3 doesn't have RALLY lol no night races? it doesn't have rain or wet tracks OMG!

People seem very nervous every article on this site right now are bash news posts.

JOLLY13027d ago

I realize. I love that hhg sees a story. Then he makes a flamebait article about it. The kids really eat this stuff up.

What good is a "racing sim" when there are no factors outside of normal dry and sunny conditions?

Night and Weather add variations to tracks making a player futher learn how to drive under different weather and lighting conditions.

Lets say Forza and GT both have Fontana Raceway as a track.
Forza is only playable during the day, forward and reverse, that makes two track variations to play on.
Now let's say Gran Turismo has the same race track, but with two different lighting conditions, and 4 weather conditions (Sunny, wet, snowy, windy).

Forza - 2
Gran Turismo - 8

That's four times more ways to drive your car under different conditions.

More ways equal more replay value, which equals more game for your buck.

Multiply that by all the different vehicles (hundreds more than Forza), tire models, customizable performance parts, and more cars on the track, then it equals to millions if not billions of different ways a race could go. You're looking at a game that dwarfs any other racing sim on the market.

And Forza 3 is exactly the perfect example of how shallow the thinking is over at Turn 10. All they do is put out cookie cutter games and none really do a ton different than the previous installment.

Sony fans are not afraid of the game, it's too laughable to be afraid of.

And as for the "You know you've succeeded when you become hated, and Forza is clearly an extremely successful franchise" comment...

Yeah, so you must think the PS3 is the most successful console of all time since you and your other fanboy friends hate on it so much... Right?

xwabbit3027d ago (Edited 3027d ago )

Soxfan ps3 only owners are obviously nervous of forza i mean... 2 disk and it doesnt even have night racing ? thats to futuristic and next gen for a game. This game will prolly be the most real sim there is with no night racing.

As for why this, hes just to funny lol

maybe Forza is holdin the DVD back

theEnemy3028d ago

It's true that most new games on the 360 are hurting due to the size of its media.

But with all these DLCs coming out on almost 80% of new games, Forza 3 will also have a DLC.

edwineverready3028d ago

Hiphopgamer topics always end up with a lot of comments. he used to be a ps3 fanboy but saw he did not get enough hits. and now he makes flaim bait articles.

Here's the article:

Forza Motorsport is a great franchise and a great answer for Microsoft Xbox360 to compete with Gran Turismo. Gran Turismo always lacked a damage modeling system in their game and considering Forza had that function since day one added more realism and fun factor for the xbox platform. Now it seems that the roles has now been reversed sorta speak because now Gran Turismo has the damage feature along with Rally Car Racing, Nascar Racing, Weather Changes, and Day/Night cycles making this game really over the top.

Considering the power we’ve seen over the years out of Xbox360 the question has now been raised about the possibility of limitations coming to the console. Forza 3 won’t be featuring Day/Night cycles, Weather Changes, or even Rally Races, regardless the game is going to be great but at the same time this is a competition, but what is truly holding Forza back from implementing these features that the fans want.

Here’s A Quote Supporting The DVD Limitation Issue

Forza’s Content Director John Wendl Had This To Say

“It is going to ship on two discs. Disc one is the full experience. Even disc one is bigger than any other racing game out there. Disc two includes a lot of extra cars, even a handful of tracks.”

Extra Cars And Tracks are major considering the amount of power and detail that goes into the tracks and car models and damage to these car models. So will the DLC be coming soon or has the DVD issue struck hard against the 360.

Microsoft just like any other game company wants to make money and DLC has been the answer this gen and it’s also competitive against the used game market that Gamestop is notorious for. Now is it possible that this game is being held back on purpose so that Microsoft can make more money from DLC patches adding these features later on in the games life cycle, or is this the time where we see Forza 3 get outdone by Gran Turismo in more areas than one cause of DVD storage issues.

GT5 IMAGE BELOW

Weather changes will increase the intensity of gameplay simply because of physics and the dynamics of driving on the road with snow , or rain, alters the way you drive depending on the vehicle you have. Gran Turismo with the amount of cars available and the tune up settings all of these parameters will have to be taken into effect when the wheather changes become apart of the games strategy.

Day and Night cycles are great to show off graphics and also it has an effect on gameplay when it comes to seeing and, spotting things on the road which will also intensify gameplay. Adding the Nascar, and Rally Racing functions changes the entire play style and what you do on the road as a whole to the point where it’s like having 3 games in one what a deal.

Microsoft is smart and most likely these features as they were explained above dealing with Gran Turismo is very important why? because they are selling points and Microsoft does not want to be left out of the loop especially during competitive interviews, without having a answer to there rivals. Forza 3 will most likely have DLC so that they can be able to compete with Gran Turismo and also give the fans what they really want in the next Forza game.

The Forza Franchise always had great features such as the car customizations, the online auctions, and the movie maker function, that’s incredible along with the Le Mans racing, but when it comes to this generation and gameplay gamers want more but the question is this.

IS MICROSOFT REACHING IT’S DEVELOPMENT LIMIT WITH THE DVD STORAGE MEDIUM OR IS THIS A NEW STANDARD METHOD TO MAKE EXTRA MONEY ON GAMES LEAVING OUT FEATURES THAT FANS CRAVE FOR

Forza Motorsport 3 will be out later this year and it will be amazing so stay tuned for more updates regarding this title.

Wow seriously? Quit hatin on hhg, let him do his thing and there is nothing wrong with this article. He brings up a good point. Keep doin it hhg, I'll keep supportin you

Gen0ne3028d ago (Edited 3028d ago )

You really went the extra mile to ensure no more hits. More power to ya, I guess. Now, is it well known he's a PS3 fanboy or is 360 fanboys perceiving him as such. I don't know, I'm asking. I watched one of his shows and couldn't get through it for two reasons: 1- as a black man I always find it personally insulting to watch another black man unwittingly go out of their way to help uphold negative stereotypes ( on a world wide scale, thanks internet ) and 2- the only word he seems to carry in his small arsenal, to describe wonderment is "AMAZING". Somebody please get this man a thesaurus.

socomnick3028d ago

Megatron its not about him being a ps3 fanboy or a 360 fanboy , both sides hate him, because he is an IDIOT.

There is no denying this.

tatical3027d ago

Why bother posting the article if you don't like it? Don't be a hater.

And yes, DVD is holding back Forza. Turn 10 doesn't have the space so they've got to cut some stuff out, its already on two disc.

"IS THIS A NEW STANDARD METHOD TO MAKE EXTRA MONEY ON GAMES LEAVING OUT FEATURES THAT FANS CRAVE FOR"

HHG, where have you been? This is certainly nothing new, not at all.

Rainstorm813028d ago

To this generation.....Since DLC hit the scene devs have been using DLC to sell thing that shouldve been in the game. The worst is trying to sell content in the game like EA does with NFS if you are too lazy to unlock it the old fashion way.

I Welcome ACTUAL additional contect though. But not unfinshed game add-ons

Like they said on Fridays Invisible Walls, Its like the companies dont have the gamers best interest in mind. Sucks
