2000 was mine.

The number of consoles connected to Xbox Live increased by 73% and the Xbox 360 itself experienced a sales growth of 83%, downloads increased by 39% with over 6.4 million downloads of free game demos.

“The July toy sales offered by the major retailers give cash-strapped families a great opportunity to plan their Christmas spending well ahead of time,” commented David McLean, Head of Microsoft Entertainment. “During the July sales retailers offer consumers layby which reaches into the Christmas period meaning now is an ideal time to make a smart purchase that doesn’t hit the hip pocket all in one go.

“Before Christmas, Xbox 360 users will have access to high definition movies-on-demand, Facebook, Twitter and a host of other features through our console. This will give families even greater freedom to share, socialise and interact online, as some of the world’s largest social networks move from the PC to the TV, and into the heart of the family living space” McLean concluded.

I have, without a doubt, given hundreds of hours to this total. Sure I paid for Live and it is worth it. -Onstar28607

Now, as for the PSN, probably 48 hours total. Joining friends, chatting, lack of features really get on my nerves. If it were it better, I would pay for it. -GW4K

Impressive work MS!

This is for Australia and New Zealand alone. I guarantee there's over 1 billion worldwide.

Yep me included online since 2006.. Dont worry ps3 fans i do not mind chucking out few bucks a month for great online experience. On the other hand i wouldn't spend any money on sony's console this year as my needs are more than fullfilled by 360 and pc.

Atleast with these stats the people who said bu but teh RRROD and people buying again a 360 will fall flat on their faces.

I could not picture this generation without XBL. Just imagine if XBL did not exist? We would have alot of angry people.

I refuse to play a game on PSN if I have the option of playing it on XBL.

Argh PSN is such an irritating service.
