1UP: The Bigs 2 (PSP) Review

1UP writes: "Baseball videogames always come in one of two varieties, simulation or arcade. While both offer very different experiences, I'd argue that there's room for heavy-hitting, big play titles like The Bigs and more sim-heavy titles like 2K Sports' own MLB series to coexist in the same baseball-game space. But successfully executing an arcade-style baseball game worth dropping hard-earned cash on has proven difficult for developers in the past, so much so that since MLB Slugfest in 2006, there haven't been any high profile releases in that vein. The Bigs 2 for PSP, developed by Blue Castle Games, gets a lot of things right in this second entry of the arcadey series, but I'm still not convinced that any developer can really pull off an arcade baseball game."

OXM UK: The Bigs 2 Review

The only worthwhile addition to the game is "Become a Legend" where you take a slugger from obscurity to the Hall of Fame. This is great for a while, but after the 26th time your potential home run is caught by yet another 30ft diving catch you'll be left in controller-throwing frustration. It's then you realise The Bigs 2 is excellent against mates or for a blast online, but its arcade style means it's not best suited to longer game modes.
