GDN writes: "That said, KoF '98 Ultimate Match is a lot of fun despite its age. It's a genuinely competent 2D fighter with a great roster, excellent music, and a good engine that discourages 'fireball keepaway' play. And if you don't want all the Ultimate Match additions, the original KoF '98 is included as part of this game if you pick 'NeoGeo Mode.' So long as you have some people to play with, $10/800 Points is a bargain. On the other hand, if you have no opponents, I will have to advise you to steer clear since playing against an SNK style AI isn't fun at all. Still, this is the definitive version of a great game, and any fan of the 2D fighting genre should pick it up".
Neil checks out King of Fighters '98: Ultimate Match on the Playstation 4 in his latest review.
Pure PlayStation: Fans of The King of Fighters are in for a treat this week as The King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match is most likely set to release on PS4 within the next few days. This isn’t just us pulling info out of our bums; the game has been rated by PEGI for a release on PS4.
I'm happy and pissed at the same damn time. I bought the 99 Dream Match on DC (and this version on Steam about a year ago), and almost bought the PS2 version for $50+ off amazon. If it does release on the PS4, at least I can save $ and have two ways of making up new curse words in between matches.
