New details about Square Enix's titles: "FFXIII's story lasts 10 years"

Nintendo Dream has conducted an interview with Shinji Hashimoto from Square Enix, and he said the following:

"The story of Final Fantasy XIII lasts 10 years, which is a long period, like in the Star Wars saga or The Lord of the Rings."

Think that sounds interesting? Hear this: Shinji Hashimoto commented on Square Enix's upcoming Wii title, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, which we have almost no info on, and said that the game will make full use of the Wii Controller. He then smiled and said that "Square Enix and Nintendo fans should really look forward to the upcoming Square Enix Party 2007 on May 12-13."

More pieces of information about Dragon Quest IX were given to us by Japanese magazine Gamelabo that claims you will be able to transfer your raised monster from Nintendo DS towards the Wii.

Last but not least, Japanese magazine Famitsu has posted its expected release dates for quite a few Square Enix games:

· Final Fantasy Tactics A2: The Sealed Grimoire: July, 2007
· Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates: August, 2007
· Dragon Quest IX : Protectors of the Sky: November, 2007

Update:

As it appears the source had a translation mistake: The correct quote is:

"The entire Fabula Nova Crystallis project will have the same world view and last approx. 10 years, which is a long period, like in the Star Wars saga or The Lord of the Rings."

Can't wait for the Square-Enix (<-- spelled it out too see it's not that hard!) party coming up. I'm a big Square-Enix fan and also if you never figured it out a big Nintendo fan. So if they think I should be looking forward to it I am!!

"More pieces of information about Dragon Quest IX were given to us by Japanese magazine Gamelabo that claims you will be able to transfer your raised monster from Nintendo DS towards the Wii." --So does that mean there is going to be a Wii version of IX or what game are we using to put them on the Wii in the first place?

yeah! .. hope to see all release dates that we want.. FF13 or versus13 and Wii titles or perhaps a MMO multiplatform title ..

FFCC:TCB and the separate DS version, Ring of Fates, definately have me psyched. They're right up there on my list with Metroid.

Sounds like FF CC for the Wii will be part of the story of the FF13 instead of just a spin off story.

Dragon Quest IX will be like Pocket Monster.
You get one on the DS first and then the Wii ver comes out about 2 months later.

Square is probably going to release another FF game for the Wii and show off new non-gaming apps for the DS.

Where did you get that? How can FFCC be part of any regular FF story? The races arent even the same.

I wouldnt want it to be integrated, its a great NEW series... They should take FF off the front so all the "Traditionalists" will leave this little game that could alone.
