New details about Square Enix's titles: "FFXIII's story lasts 10 years"

Nintendo Dream has conducted an interview with Shinji Hashimoto from Square Enix, and he said the following:

"The story of Final Fantasy XIII lasts 10 years, which is a long period, like in the Star Wars saga or The Lord of the Rings."

Think that sounds interesting? Hear this: Shinji Hashimoto commented on Square Enix's upcoming Wii title, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, which we have almost no info on, and said that the game will make full use of the Wii Controller. He then smiled and said that "Square Enix and Nintendo fans should really look forward to the upcoming Square Enix Party 2007 on May 12-13."

More pieces of information about Dragon Quest IX were given to us by Japanese magazine Gamelabo that claims you will be able to transfer your raised monster from Nintendo DS towards the Wii.

Last but not least, Japanese magazine Famitsu has posted its expected release dates for quite a few Square Enix games:

· Final Fantasy Tactics A2: The Sealed Grimoire: July, 2007
· Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates: August, 2007
· Dragon Quest IX : Protectors of the Sky: November, 2007 (Final Fantasy XIII, Nintendo DS, PS3, Wii)

Update As it appears the source had a translation mistake: The correct quote is:

"The entire Fabula Nova Crystallis project will have the same world view and last approx. 10 years, which is a long period, like in the Star Wars saga or The Lord of the Rings."
