The Limey #16: Five Games that Need Remade

It might be a little inaccurate to classify game remakes a "recent trend" given that they've actually been happening for a long time now. But in the past two years or so we've been given the chance to enjoy some classic older titles on modern formats. Capcom's Bionic Commando Rearmed is one good example. Tozai's Lode Runner is another. Every month it seems like developers and publishers are dipping into the past to pluck some popular game out of the void with a view to bringing classics to today's audience.

Remakes, spin-offs -- call them what you will, but this is something that interests me as a longtime gamer. Over the past few weeks I've been mulling over a top five list of games that I'd love to see get the same treatment. LucasArts seems to be all over this right now, with a new announcement for an oldie coming later today, and the recent news that The Secret of Monkey Island will hit the Xbox 360 Arcade service later this year courtesy of Telltale Games.
