zConnection's Connor Beaton writes: "What are the benefits of episodic games, you might ask? There are a lot of factors to consider here, actually. First off, an episode has a much shorter development cycle than a full game. While Valve might take four years or so to create a new Half-Life, Telltale Games could use that same time to churn out five Sam & Max episodes. Why? Because the episodes are much shorter and cheaper than full games so they can be produced faster and begin to make sales quicker."
