IGN: Silver Star Reversi Review

So Silver Star Reversi ranks in just a bit below Silver Star Chess, as it offers a similarly bare-bones rendition of a classic board game design on WiiWare, but does so in a manner that's a bit less accessible too. It's only five bucks, so IGN is sure there will be players who'll want to grab this one just because it's Othello made available on a Nintendo console again. And that's fine -- the core game isn't bad, it's just a bit too challenging for beginners. It's not a bad game, it's just one that could have had a lot more polish and extra effort put into it, and it didn't. And that's worth a good old "meh."

NL: Silver Star Reversi Review

Nintendo Life writes: "It's difficult to recommend Silver Star Reversi wholeheartedly, however its core gameplay and frugal price make it difficult to dismiss. When a video game reviewer is judging a less-than-thrilling adaption of a classic board game, they will invariably suggest that the gamer simply go out and buy a physical copy. Aside from the logical fallacy (if they're a fan of the original board game, then they probably already own a copy and are enquiring about this particular adaption!), it's actually probably cheaper to buy Silver Star Reversi rather than a decent copy of the board game. Both offer the same positive attributes: make of that what you will".
