ArmA II PC Specs - Your Dell Might Just Work at Minimum

The game hits Steam tomorrow in the U.S. but gamers might want to check out the minimum specs to see if they can even play it. (ArmA 2, PC)

Tough Specs
I'm already getting this one, but I fear it may try to kick my rig's ass worse than Crysis did.

www.canirunit.com pc gamers best friend...ArmA 2 isnt on it yet though but still

The recommended doesn't seem too bad. You could build a computer with those specs for around $500-600.

those specs don't look half bad. A top of the line computer 2 or 3 years old should have no problem running this. <-- NOT at highest settings.. DUH!
paul0388  +   2105d ago
I guess..
I bought an absolute top of the line rig about a year and a half and it just exceeds the recommended specs. The minimum specs are the highest I've ever seen too for any pc game so far.

Ghostbusters' requirements are higher. The game plays perfectly fine on my 8800 GTS 512 on near max settings, though. 1680x1050, too. I get like 30-40 FPS during action scenes.

I should be fine then
A while back I purchased a rig with:

Q6600 Quad Core at 2.6 GHZ
4 GB Ram (cant remember what speed)
750 GB hard drive
DVD Reader/Burner
8800 GTS with 512 MB VRAM
650 watt power supply
1440x900 16:10 Monitor with 75 hertz refresh rate

LMFAO - I have a disagree when stating no opinion but pure fact. Some users on this site are ridiculous...

I disagree!
Pretty sure the Q6600 isn't 2.6 ghz. :P

one of the reasons I got a quad core for my rig. the other reason was operation flashpoint: Dragon Rising.

I'm a huge Mil Sim Fan
And that's why I had to get a pc up to specs. They're my favorite genre. I like playing games that are as realistic as possible and nothing gets more realistic than an OP Flash or Arma game.

Its a shame for all you guys then
That this game isnt worth your time, download it at the most guys its really not great. My criticisms are that its way too buggy and crashes a lot, wont perform well on max settings 1680 rez even on a rig with quad sli gtx 280s nd an overclocked i7. Also, as its only fair that this game is judged as others were, its generic, has bad characters and the LOD distance isnt great at all, draw distance is immense though, gfx good in places but inconsistent. Just dont get excited.

No sweat for me

11GB DDR 3 RAM.
ATI 4870 x 2 graphics card with 2 GB RAM each
2TB of HDD
7.1 surround sound.
32' HD monitor

Youre still a bit screwed my friend
Btw, r u sure u dont mean 2gb collectively? Ive not found any x2s with 2gb each, whatre they called? Also, you shoulda bought into quad sli my friend and the core i7 is a bit of a bottleneck for u with current games, none take advantage of all its cores and the clock speeds and overclockability of i7s is a lot worse than a decent quad core cpu. Basically, i7 for video editing at the moment and quad for gaming atm

Wow, the game looks and plays great, but I've never seen worse lipsyncing in a game. Ever.

not mine
Played the demo. I got a gaming PC in November last year. I meet most specs but i got 6 fps on high and 25 on low settings in the benchmark, ouch. I'll wait on this one, back to ArmA.
FantasyStar  +   2105d ago
You guys should just download the demo and see for yourselves if you're on the fence about this.

Dont care about specs anymore as i just picked up from our review stock of products an Asus 4870x2 2GB tri cooler edition. Atleast it churns out 50+fps in crysis on max settings so it should eat all of the new games for sometime. Haven't even installed yet as im busy finishing some 360 games.
mittwaffen  +   2105d ago
Have fun with your X2, this game is a easter dev..meaning it will be highly unoptimized and run like crap. Try the demo you'll be sad with the performance your x2 gives you.
