Factor 5's first PlayStation 3 game is almost feature-complete, and Gamespot have got an in-depth look at all the dragon-fueled mayhem in their extensive hands-on report.
Hey, heres an idea. How about we stop doing thesame reviews on the same games EVERY day. I have seen a review for Lair everyday this past week. It looks cool. MOVING ON!
First its a preview not a review. Second your exagerating, the only preview of the game was a post a day ago from IGN and its nice for people to get different impression from gaming sites like Gamespot, so I think even though you might not be interested other like myself will be. There have been alot of Lair video, screenshots and a developer interview over the last day or 2 but nothing before that. The article is unique and not a duplicate story and I think it sets a dangerous president if this is what is going to be used as a reason for turning down submissions. If this preview from Gamespot had already been posted fine but it hasn't so should not be reported as a duplicate.
f*ck you dude. You don't have to read it, but some people are interested. Just because it's on the site doesn't mean it has to bother you. Go get f*cked...wait until all the massive mass effect and too human coverage. Lair information has just been released and some of us who are intending to buy want to see as much as we can.

HAHA, you have to be the biggest crybaby on here! :) Why the stab on the 360 for? He didn't say anything about a 360. Haha :)
He's mearly stating that in the past 4 or 5 days there have been maybe 5 or 6 posts including articles that are pending being posted about pretty much the exact same thing and half of them posted by Deepbrown. It only seems like too much but not all were approved so it's not bad, it's all good.
My liking this game has dropped based on what I've seen lately especially w/the ground fighting but I'll wait til it comes out to really say. I don't like that there's no online either. Maybe that too will come w/a download.
Bet he does not complain about the very regular Halo2 and Forza articles. But hey - Lair info seems to be generating positive buzz.. so - must move in and kill kill kill
this time we don't get in a fight? That would be awesome.
This game looks cool, i just wonder if it will be as some people say, dynasty warrior-ish. Hopefully its a great game.
he reported it just cause he was "bored" that's why :)
Dude if you have a problem with it don't read it! Especialy don't post such a comment. You should appreciate deepbrown and others for going out there and collecting these articles that you get to convienantly read all at one place!
This is the same team that made Star Wars Rogue Squadron II! If you played it you would know what the team is capable of especially when the dragons are in flight.
for this game =)
hope, they will work on textures of dragons, that game would look like CG..
and improve fire, then the game will be a perfect one. =)
WoW there really trying to hype/market this game just how much news can be taken in about one game before you just get sick of seeing it. Site is flooded with this crap.
wait until the waters burst for Halo3 matey. You don't have to read it. The only people sick of it are those that wont get to play it.
I was watching a video interview and they said the dragon in the video and the screenshots was only one of many you could ride.
I am no fanboy tk. I have posted similar comments on xbox reviews.
I am def getting this game. I think Lair is going to be sweet. I loved the RS series so this is going to really good.
I am just sick of seeing lots of reviews on the same games, even though they are different reviews. Dont take it so personal deep. Whats wrong with stating MY OPINION. Isnt that what everybody here does?
Thanks for one less bubble guys.
It was the reporting that did it mate. The comment didn't offend me. But when I spend the time to cater to people who are interested about this game and are craving for some written information I don't feel it should be reported.
Honestly when the gates open for a game like this we should be grateful because we all moan how sony holds everything back and doesnt give us anything and when they do...we complain. Seems counterintuitive to me.
Your doing a nice job, keep doing what you're doing and don't listen to them (360rats).
BACK ON TOPIC:
This game will be great and i bet you it will be a AAA tittle, FOR SURE.
But I watched the developer walkthrough & the graphics are OK. I dont see why people are wetting their pants over this game. When the boats blow up & the water reacts, it looks fake as hell. If you look close enough you dont even see the water move, its just some lame effect. Sorry man, but there's def much better games coming out for this system... In My Opinion.
to some degree. After playing so many ps2 games on their ps3s, this will definately look good. If this is what 2nd gen ps3 games look like than I'm really feeling proud of my 360 purchase.
This game look really good, i mean, it looks better than anything out right now.
Ur Not Serious. This looks better than any other game out right now?? Please repeat yourself so that I can confirm that u r an idiot!!
Don't patronise him dude.
I don't think he's far off actually...go to the neogaf forums, even the 360 fans are raving about it.
""Do not fooled by the videos, they are likely CGI. Get ready for a big downgrade once the game ships. I hate the way Sony lies and misleads people just like they did back in May 2005."
Another (not my words...they speak for themselves)
"Is this not the most unbelievabely technologically advanced game ever? Or have I forgotten some game?
When they are moving the camera around in the second video above the waterfalls and you can see allthe buildings, mountins, water, dragons flying around, I'm like WTF!!"
So yes I'd say it is the best looking next-gen game and certainly an amazing technological feat...and so do most people on the net after watching the walk throughs. The amount of detail and effects they have when going from macro to micro is amazing. Gameplay is the only dubitable thing.
PS. the water from the explosions isn't just an effect, it's the low quality vid that is obscuring it.
Please stand & Read this!!!!
Sir........ You R an Idiot!!! Thank you. Please, do not applaude.
FANBOY ALERT FANBOY ALERT... ok now we can go back to normal..
That 360 s fan's r stupids why they'R so mad becuise they R CAN'NOT play Lair em my right guys
Another sony dud.
Already commented by the dev, this is not possible on any other console. Impressive, and they are just high quality vids of a tv,lmao. Wait till you see it realtime 1080p, lmfao.hahahahahahahahaha.
Bring on the beast!!!!!
man u R full of sh*t man if u dont like the game why read about it and comment on that man why r u even here go play ur full of sh*t crap box 360
man u R full of sh*t man if u dont like the game why read about it and comment on that man why r u even here go play ur full of sh*t crap box 360 and lair is a great game.
lol ... man, you're very entertaining. name one game that looks as good as Lair!
btw Halo3 looks like Halo 2 in HD so don't come up with that.
you know that halo 3 is still being worked on right?
So chances are the graphics will greatly improve.
Its the same with many other games.
lair will always look better than halo 3, but halo doesent need to look like the best graphical game, but sayin that, lair is wat sony needs now, and they should get this game out asap.....
mute point. halo will sell tons, some off hype, some off diehard fans, some off of newcomers who dont know any better and hear its "THE BOMB". Lair has a lot to prove. im not 100% sold on it yet, but it is surprising me everytime i see a new screen shot, video, or read a preview.
people here who dont like it. shouldnt you be happy. either you dont have a ps3 or you just wont buy it... its called "consumer choice"
about this game *UNTIL i saw all the previews that have been released this past weekend.
now, i'm eager to see more videos, read more interviews, and gawk at more screenshots.
it was definitely on my list as a potential rental, but after hearing about it, and looking at the videos that back up the gameplay, the game looks to be delivering everything they promised us before a single screenshot was released, and all we saw were CG videos.
these people may work for Sony (still 2nd/3rd party, however), but they are NOT Sony. the reason why i think so many people are bringing up old sh*t from E3 2005, is because i think they may be afraid that the PS3 is actually capable of pulling off such grandiose claims.
and honestly, if Gears of War is the bestlooking game ever made, and Gears of War beats out Killzone, but the PS3 is on equal footing with the 360 on "every level" according to some 360 fans out there, then why, for the love of Sanchez can't Killzone, at the least, look as good as Gears of War?
we've been hearing that the PS3 is excellent with streaming, and that to code effectively for the machine, you need to understand this and utilize it's streaming capabilities. with Lair, we've seen the streaming at work, and the results are beyond impressive.
with Heavenly Sword and Lair, we've seen what all that calculation magic the Cell can work can pull off (advanced water simulations, fancy AI, etc).
and remember, these games are all scheduled to hit before November 2007.
you guys do know what means right?
They are still FIRST GENERATION games.
first generation is considered to be titles that hit during the first year of the console's life. anything after that first year is considered Second Generation. Gears of War, for example, is a second generation 360 game.
we haven't even SEEN more than one or 2 second generation PS3 games, and what we have seen is still very early code (Eight Days, Heavy Rain, Little Big Planet).
the fact that the PS3 is getting these incredible looking, and from what we've seen and heard (and in some cases, Played), playing games. and within it's first year is very impressive, and should instill hope in the future prospects the machine will offer. November 2008, for example, should be rather exciting.
sure, we have to wait for them, but we had to wait for Gears of War, and Crackdown, and a lot of people are STILL waiting for Halo 3 and Mass Effect and Bioshock.
point is, we have to wait for the good stuff, and we know good stuff is coming, for both the 360 AND the PS3.
i'm dying to get my hands on Mass Effect just as badly as i'm dying to get my hands on MGS4.
Alan Wake has me just as intrigued as Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
and Too Human has redeemed itself in my eyes (when i was at E3, my heart fell when i saw the game in it's pathetically unplayable state. i didn't even bother to give it a try because the other gamers just didn't look like they were enjoying themselves), and i'm eager to check it out like i am Heavenly Sword.
what all these games have in common is that we are still WAITING FOR THEM.
360 fans have very little to gloat about when it comes to quality titles, if truth be told.
i've played Dead Rising: fun, but nothing more than 1st gen filler. not worth the $60 asking price.
Lost Planet: not as fun as the demo, but still enjoyable. 1st gen filler. not worth $60.
Saints Row: stop kidding yourselves, that game is not good. it's a poor mans GTA minus the good writing and charm. definitely not worth $60.
Gears of War: the best game on the platform. not my thing, but quality nonetheless. worth $60.
Oblivion: the second (arguably the first) best game on the platform. PS3 fans have this one also. it's an incredibly deep game that has grown on me (i have it on my PC, while my fiancee rules it on the PS3. i haven't been able to play my PS3 in weeks). worth $60.
the 360 has a handful of games truly worth your time at this point in it's life. even after a year on the market.
the PS3 has a handful of games truly worth your time at this point in it's life:
Resistance: the best title on the console so far. worth $60.
Motorstorm: flawed, but fun in short, short bursts. not worth $60.
Oblivion: second best, arguably first, title on console. worth $60
Virtua Fighter 5: an excellent fighting game for fans, and fans of the series). worth $60 for fans of the genre.
nothing too shabby for being out on the market for 5 months.
but like the 360, the good stuff is still on it's way.
the difference is that while 360 fans have been waiting nearly two years to get their hands on Mass Effect, Bioshock, Halo 3, etc, PS3 fans have been waiting a little less than one year.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Lair, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, etc, are all slated before the PS3 turns a year old. not too shabby at all for a first year. by November, and it's year birthday, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, MGS4, Home, Killzone, etc, will have hit. that's a GREAT selection of diverse games, and all hitting by first year.
i'm not down on the 360, not in the least, but i do think that the PS3 has been given a bad rap, simply because of it's price.
looking at what Sony is offering (and it's well within our rights and freedom to just NOT BUY IT, if we don't want to), the price is understandable.
sure, you may not want to pay $600 for it. but, guess what, you don't HAVE to.
no one is forcing any of us to plunk down our cash for any of these pieces of consumer electronics. WE choose to buy a 360 or PS3. if it's too much, wait for a price drop. it's as simple as that. you don't have to own every single piece of new technology available on day one simply because it's there.
if Sony has priced the console out of the range of the average consumer, they will do what have to to fix that, but there are people that WILL buy it for $600 if they feel it's worth it (such as myself, and all of my friends, who all own PS3s. and 360s, excluding me. no 360 yet, but i'll get one soon enough). there are still millions of people who see worth in the $600 machine (as evidenced by the 3 million people who have bought PS3s so far). i bought a PS3 in late February because i really, really want to play Resistance and VF5, and Motorstorm and Oblivion were just a hop, skip, and a jump away from release. i haven't been disappointed with my purchase at all. in-between bouts of PS3 goodness, i play some God of War 2, and other PS2 titles that i've yet to finish but have been meaning too. it's plenty to tide me over until Ninja Gaiden and Lair hit in the summer, and Assassin's Creed, GTA, and the others i've listed above hit in the fall.
360 owners have just as many decent to quality titles to tide them over until THEIR big guns hit during the summer and fall also. there's also some multi-platform titles hitting both consoles that are also worth a look in between the mega-hit exclusives.
i'm not going to rip into so and so for buying a 360. that's his/her choice. they see value in the machine.
but why must every single PS3 owner be ripped a new one because they spent their hard earned money on something they want?
it's not for you, me, or anyone to tell people what they should do with their money.
if they want a 360, they'll buy a 360. if they want a Wii, they'll buy a Wii. if they want a PS3, they'll buy a PS3. if they want all three (like a lot of us), they'll buy all 3 when they can.
it's the beauty of being an individual. we are all unique, and have unique tastes and likes and dislikes.
thank god for that. i wouldn't want every single person on the planet to like the same things i do. where would the fun be in that?
i don't like Gears of War. does that mean the game sucks? no.
i don't like Halo. does that mean the game sucks? no.
you don't like Metal Gear Solid. does that mean the game sucks? no.
you don't like Resistance. does that mean the game sucks? no.
i don't understand why people just can't appreciate and accept other people's opinions.
when the opinion is laced with ignorance, misinformation and FUD, sure, whip out the knowledge stick.
but don't just trash someone because they prefer a game console you don't. it's just silly and immature.
back on topic, Lair has a lot to prove still, but what i've seen so far is really promising, and the technology going into it excites me even more, because i can't help but think of it's application to OTHER genres that i find a bit more interesting (like RPGs, Action/Adventure games, etc).
p.s. i do apologize for my long rants, feel free to ignore them all you like. i never intend to make them this long when i start. it just sort of all tumbles out.
