Ubisoft Isn't Getting With The Motion

BeefJack writes: "Seems that it's not just me that misses the days I could sit down and hardly move but still manage to destroy cities and pull of impressive kung-fu moves with a controller. Ubisoft also feel that these old controllers are still the best option for the big games."

Wow that's strange given Red Steel and the Rabbids but I suppose that's just two smaller franchises. Ubi's awesome anyway, so many games I'm looking forward to.

What's the last great game Ubisoft put out?

SpoonyRedMage3096d ago (Edited 3096d ago )

It depends in who's opinion but there's some games I've liked a lot recently such as Farcry 2 and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. There's also stuff like Hawx that they've released and Red Steel 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, Assassin's Creed 2 and COP: The Recruit all look good.

EDIT: It also depends if you count Gameloft, who have quite a few great games out there.

Myst?
At least for me.

To me, this gen, Ubisoft have made a lot of good games, but they've all lacked something to make them go from "good" to "great".

Ubisoft has a point. Too many games have appeared on the Wii that were pure trash.

"Ooohhh, it has a neat controller thingy wand!"

Whoopty doo. Guess what? Natal and the Sony motion controller will also generate games that just crap that otherwise would not have seen the light of day or else would have had resources allocated to the actual game.

"But...but...but...the motion control!"

There are far too many ways in which games still need to be improved in the gameplay itself before the dev team and publisher wander down over the hill looking for a motion control scheme.

" Natal and the Sony motion controller will also generate games "

And here i was thinking it was up to the creative minds of developers/

Perhaps all don't work with motion controls, but still there are games that could work great with them. Even "big games". Its up to the developers and don't pretend all of it is crap, thats just a blatant lie.
