EA has released 8 new screenshots for NASCAR 08, their next game in the popular racing game series which is set to be released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PS2 on 7/17/07.
looks like crap, and nascar is for southern redneck 50 year olds!
the young racist should research NASCARs popularity. The only sport in the U.S. with a bigger audience is NFL Football.
im white so how can i be a racist against whites? your all just being a bunch of nappy headed ho's when you call me a racist!
You were made a martyr buy the hypocritical media and self interested advertisers! DOUBLE STANDARDS, PEOPLE.
race go round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round.
Sorry not for Europe. I prefer F1.
the PS2 screenshots? Please tell me they aren't making that mess for 360 or PS3.
don't look great and don't do the game justice. It will look MUCH better than that.
I am an F1 fan myself but I do like Nascar, its not as boring as people make it out be be, after all theres loads more crashes than in F1.
I watched the Daytona 500 a couple of months back and it was far more exciting than the majority of F1 races.
Nope, just dont get it. Driving around in circles and circles?? Wheres the skill?? Nascar is totally retarded!! And M4RK, your talking about crashes??? Its supposed to be a racing, not a destruction derby, is it not??
I'd say the skill is in driving at 140mph only meters away from 6 other cars. Being surrounded on a track and still having to maintain a solid line AND top speed isn't easy. Having to weave and dodge through a group of cars on a narrow short track is an awesome feeling, as is drafting and passing on the last lap of the race or getting a bump from your buddy to help you across the line. It's also one of the few forms of racing to support and allow real teamwork between drivers.
That being said, these screens don't look as good as F1 on PS3, but I'll buy this because I really have no alternative on consoles nowadays. As long as it's better than 07, I'll be satisfied.
Nope, gotta disagree. Theres more skill involved in F1. One slip up and it could end up resulting in a 10 car pile up. Where do Nascar drivers train?? On the bumper cars at the fairground?? You just cant compare hurtling down a straight at 200mph, with a hairpin bend in front of you, trying to get your braking perfect to hit the apex and get good exit speed from a corner, all whilst not trying to cause a pile up, to driving around in circles bumping other cars out of the way. I just dont get the sport at all. Anyway, thats all off topic, the game looks crap either way.
left turn, left turn, left turn. Nascar is the joke of racing. F1, Moto gp, and rally are much better, not to mention those screens were horrible. And ironwolf, there's more to the world than the US.
What the hell are you people talking about Nascar is awesome.
"Theres more skill involved in F1. One slip up and it could end up resulting in a 10 car pile up."
Haha have you ever watched Nascar, one slip up results in like a 20 car pileup. I love how your all knocking Nascar, I'm from Colorado I'm not even from the south and I know it's a fantastic sport. But how can you knock something you couldn't do?
"You just cant compare hurtling down a straight at 200mph, with a hairpin bend in front of you, trying to get your braking perfect to hit the apex and get good exit speed from a corner, all whilst not trying to cause a pile up"
And this is different from Nascar because? They have to brake from 185+ to make the correct apex of their turns, while keeping speed up to not lose position, all why they have inches of room to work with otherwise they cause a crash.
Anyways I love FI, your just being unfair to Nascar, it's alot harder than you think it is, if you want to make fun of sports make fun of curling, that sports L-A-M-E! Anyways this game looks horrific, holy anti-aliasing, TURN IT ON
For all the naysayers...
I used to think the same thing about Nascar. I'd see it on tv and think--- What's the big deal? All they do is go straight, make a left, go straight again, and make another left. Do it 500 times, and you've got a race!
But after seeing it in person, which I'm sure most of the negative commenters have NOT, I realized that Nascar is, indeed, not nearly as simple as it looks. From watching it on tv, you don't get the same feel for the sound or speed that you get from being there in person. Like any competition, it's much more exciting when you're actually there, and in Nascar's case, this is probably more true than any other sport.
But with that said, I do agree with some that F1 probably takes more skill. I've never been to an F1 race, but judging purely by the fact that they make left AND right turns, it seems a little more complex. And since it's not usually as clustered as Nascar tends to get, F1 requires a little but more precision in the lines they have to maintain.
Summary: F1 and Nascar both require skill, and neither is "easy."
And to #1-- Not everyone in the South is a redneck. Grow up, my friend.
Not sure where it is in development, but right now, I have to say the screenshots look terrible.
So because you don't like NASCAR, the game is bad? I'm not a fan of soccer (sorry American football for me) but I like Winning Eleven. Open your mind. If its fun, its fun.
i think playing it is fine, but when you go to it or watch it on tv thats when your lame. if the game looks like the pics and plays like the old ones then is sucks and its not worth playing...its still a hard sell even when its good!
just once. :)
turn right again........
great one Dark L.!!!!!
I think I figured out why Nascar is more loved then F1 in the USA.
F1 and Nascar are both on TV right now. F1 on my HD channel is only in SD and Nascar is in HD. I am not a big fan of watching car racing in anyform but HD really makes everything better :D.
