Joystiq Reader Hashbrown_Hunter sent in a scan from the latest EGM Rumor Mill reporting that it isn't the episodic Peter Jackson project or the Halo Wars RTS that Bungie is currently working on. "Word is another Halo game is in the works," they say.
Well, DUH! This is MS' and Bungie's biggest cash cow...as long as the money flows, so will the games. But, for the love of God, MAKE SURE THE QUALITY IS PRESERVED! No Halo Racing, or introducing cutesy Spartan sidekicks, or [email protected]
Now, what this may mean:
Halo 3 is supposed to conclude the CURRENT Halo storyline...it seems likely that Master Chief will survive Halo 3...unless the story continues with another Spartan, or takes a different course entirely.
Also consider this: Remake Halo 2 for the 360--fix the graphical glitches (just a few), tweak multiplayer, and add achievements...I mean, if PC users can get them, why can't those of us who play it on the 360?
More Halo = happy gamers. :)
but but MS fanboys dont want sequals they keep saying that on every PS3 sequal article coming out, how can MS do that to them boys, tisk tisk MS tisk tisk
stop trying to start flame wars.
And they could continue with another spartan since I think theres still two others alive.
I'm a huge Halo fan but I would like to see more new IP's, obviously if they make more Halo games they are going to sell and of course I would be guilty of purchasing them myself too....but I think you hit the nail on the head because what I would definitely hate to see is a bunch of stupid spin-offs and low quality Halo "Spartan" games, just to earn a buck, if they are going to do something I just hope they put their heart and resource's in it and represent Halo well.
you think. they are going to milk the franchise, Halo 4, 5, Halo House Party, Halo Kart Racing. Halo 3 aint even out and they are working on Halo Wars. Halo made Xbox, no Halo no Xbox, if there was no Halo, there would not have been any Xbox 360.
its like Nintendo stopping Mario franchise.
WELL AS LONG AS THEY DONT PARTNER WITH EA TO MAKE A MASTERCHIEF BASKETBAL GAME IM FINE
Is spread out very far and the amount of Halo that could be created from it would be incredible. I hate whenever Microsoft or Sony make a game remake people call it a cash cow but what about Nintendo?
I dont mind I LOVE this game.I hope they dont screw the franchise.
If people want more then give them more. If Final Fantasy managed to make like 20 iteration of the game and have the word "final" in their title. I think Halo will be just fine.
definitely got my first laugh today from this one....+bubbles.
To launch with the 360 motion-sensitive contoller!
Seriously, I love the halo series. Microsoft is doing this correct by having different types of games based on the Halo universe. I personally do not like RTS games, so I won't buy Halo Wars. It's that simple. They're expanding the Halo franchise to different genres. It's not sequalitis by any means. Not like the lackluster yearly installments of other games (EA).
...means there is room for a combo re-issue of Halo 1 & 2 with improved graphics and achievements added on.
They are already re-doing the Halo 1 & 2 cinematics for the Halo 3 deluxe edition pack-in disk so that part of the development cost is paid for with Halo 3 money, and Halo 2 itself is a Vista-only game, which means it is highly compatible (at the source code level) with the 360, making it a quickie port. Of course, both Halo 1 & 2 are backwards compatible so they could simply tweak the original code for widescreen and AA and repackage it with the new cinematics at a cut-rate price and make a ton of money even off limited sales.
Bean-counter heaven: guaranteed sales at minimal investment.
as long as it's good I'll buy it.
they`ll milk you for what ya got w/ that name.
