They are both two great franchises. As console racing fans, we are truly blessed to have both of these to chose from. And these two guys seems to agree, one gave Forza an overall score of 86 vs Gran Turismo's 85, and the other clearly prefers GT5 + G25 giving GT5 a 90 and Forza an 85.

Outside of PS3 fanboy la la land racing sim fans like both franchises. Some people like Forza better and some people like Gran Turismo better. Personally, I like Forza better because of its greater customizability, better physics and better online options. Forza 3 is looking amazing and I think it is going to win over a whole bunch of new fans.

Full version av GT5 will probably be better if they get damage. But the same goes from forza. They complained about forza not having c0ckpit view and clutch. But both of these features will be in forza 3.

Even going as far as trying to rig a pointless internet pol with free download content (the unicorn car). Hell the psp version of Gran Turismo shows up Forza 3 with it having over 800 cars to Forza 3's 400.
Now just imagine how many cars the ps3 version will have. It can very easily be over 1000 cars. Not to mention they have NASCAR AND THE WORLD RALLY CIRCUIT. Oh and one more thing they STILL have the better physics. And if that wasn't enough, they even have REALISTIC damage, not that arcade crap forza pulls.

Forza is a glorified Arcade racer period! GT is authenticity at its finiest from car performance numbers to tracks. All of which are second to none in authenticity and replication.
Before you say they aren't the same, the dongle on the bottom is pit..and GT maps don't show pit.
@ ChristGTR1 If you ever played ANY of the GT games you would see you can customize your car in it as well. Brakes, engine, turbo system, exhaust, full suspension control, complete gear ratio control, so on. None is shown physically (other than suspension) but it was all there.
@Xi I take it you're not a car enthusiast as, it wouldn't make a difference it it was production model or a a modified version of a Mini Cooper, because the chassis of the Mini wouldn't be cable to corner better than a Porsche. Speed/Power isn't was makes a car fast around a track it's balance between that and chassis being able to use the power effectively to maintain speed around corners and on straights. What's fun? Um, here is the difference between Forza and GT. GT is a racing sim, that's it. Nothing for beginners, nothing for noobs, nothing for people just wanting to play a racing game. Forza has that racing sim mentality but has features that allow people to have fun and not feel overwhelmed. Racing lines, the new rewind feature, special kiddie driving mode etc... Forza just has a more open feel to it for people who just kinda wanna race around a track. But has cool stuff if your an avid fan. Either way they're the best racing games you'll find on the planet, bar none.
::sigh:: this is so lame. I will say this once and only once. If you either try to downplay or knock the GT franchise or the Forza franchise you in no way know anything about cars. I like Forza 2 because IT'S A COMPLETE GAME. And the customization, good physics, and many different game modes.
Needless to say, I'm looking foward to Forza 3 and GT5, as those two will be the two games that's really comparable.
Comparing Forza 2 to GT5P is like comparing a cake that's already been baked to a cake that's still in the oven, and asking which tastes better.

Keep in mind, I'm an avid detailer. My car is always clayed and polished when necessary, and topped with FK1000p. So my car is as shiny as it gets.

I just rented GT5P again an it now has drifting in it an some tracks you can do a drift run and plus you can change how real you want it (Noob or Pro)
One is a full fledged sequel (Forza 2)...the other was a a glorified DEMO...WAIT TILL GT5 hits the shelves...its gonna blow Forza 3 outta the water...Nascar, WRC, damage, more cars, more tracks, and of course...WAY BETTER VISUALS....
Gran Turismo was, is, and will always be, the king of driving games

Nah kidding, it is important, i just don't see the parameters? Maybe they aren't a racing sim but a "FUN racing sim" website =P dno just trying to figure out the whole fun factor thing xD
Forza 2 barely won over a Prologue,this shows how mighty Gran Turismo is.
But I'd definitely give it to Forza 2 if GT5P had a $60 price tag.
Just because you don't like a game doesn't have to do if you know or like cars, I own a 1978 El Cameo an waiting for my dad to drop in the new engine for the 1976 Z26 (I think it was Z26 lol) Carmo. So don't be saying that.
