Connor Beaton writes: "I've been a fan of the Terminator franchise for a relatively long time now; The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day are definitely amongst my favourite films, because while there's an aspect of tastelessness to a film series where the plot centres around killing machines being sent back in time to, well, kill people, the films are stuffed with action and some pretty mind bending paradoxes. Anybody who knows me closely will know my endearment to action flicks.
"It must be said, though, that I detested Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Sure, the real star of the films, Arnold Schwarzenegger, reprised his role, only to star in a movie that seemed half like a parody of the series and half like a rip-off of the previous films, probably because James Cameron, creator of the series, didn't direct. For that reason, I didn't hold very high hopes for the series' fourth film, Terminator Salvation."
