Microsoft Sued Over Vista-Capable Claims

Software giant Microsoft has been targeted by a lawsuit accusing the company of letting PC makers label computers as "Vista capable" when they're only able to run the most basic version of the operating system...

Until I warned them about the true spec requirements. Same thing happened with people who bought Windows XP comps that only came with 256MB of RAM. It runs, but not very much.

1GB should be the bare minimum RAM for Vista, period. 2GB makes Vista as usable as XP is off of 1GB...

The absolute ONLY reason to go to Vista is DirectX 10, and that's only because some PC games (and some bad-ass ones like Crysis) will require it. Other than that, there is NO reason to upgrade from XP.

I'm glad Unreal Tournament 3 will run on XP/DirectX 9. Hopefully Epic will put out a native Linux client (like they did for UT2003 and UT2004).

Where is your friend from. Hati? Man, you call yourself friend? You are telling me you are not able to donate your friend some memory? WOW, how much did he pay for that computer? 256MB? He should be running DOS let alone a new OS.

If you feel comfortable giving your friends $200~300 instead of letting them be responsible enough to buy things on their own, that's fine with me. But don't try and force your ideologies onto others; it's not appreciated. All I did was warn my friend that he needed to get at least 1GB of RAM and a high-end graphics card if he expected to run Vista properly.

And BTW, it's spelled 'Haiti'

even 1 gig is not enough for vista. even just activating the aura theme takes 55mb of ram, where normal vista theme takes 5mb. After all vista is just a more feature added version of XP,just another ms shi**.

bladestar, you can not start your day without saying anything morone can you?

BIadestarX4271d ago (Edited 4271d ago )

"bladestar, you can not start your day without saying anything morone can you?" and you can't start your day without b!tching about anything that microsoft does.

You anti-microsoft d!cks.. can't read and don't even follow instructions. All you have to do is go to Microsoft site:

Vista Home Basic
1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
512 MB of system memory

Vista Home Premium / Business / Ultimate
1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
1 GB of system memory

Any idiot that knows a thing or two about computers should know that one must double minimun requirements for optimal performances. Period.

Besides there is always linux or mac; which you already have or use.
uhh.. [my friend bought computer that had 256MB with windows xp and it didn't run ok....]... wanna a cookie?

EDIT: Ohh wow, you stupid idiots... all you focus on is that I miss spell Haiti.

"haiti not hati u dumbass", it's not "haiti" is Haiti and it's not "u" it's "You". I don't spell check before I post. I know how to spell Haiti very well, I was born in Dominican Republic and we share the same border.

I see what you are saying GT, but i have a question...does MS charge you on a sliding scale? as in if you are only able to use the bare version do you pay less then people who are able to enjoy everything vista has to offer?

ben hates you4271d ago

but whoa this whole weak i've had so many disagrees its crazy and now i'm making people sick

They do charge on a sliding scale. If you run Vista Home Basic you pay less than the people who run Vista Home Premium and get the Aero.

Microsoft being sued?
An American company being sued?
American lawyers suing American companies?

What else is new? ::Yawn::

Funky Town_TX4272d ago

Lawyers win. Vista basic is vista. Who the "f" can run a computer with only 512 MB of ram. Vista Basic blows.
