When The Sims launched in 2000 it instantly struck a chord with people across the globe. Will Wright delivered the ultimate 'god game', a game where you controlled people's daily lives, from the mundane like cleaning, eating, sleeping to those quintessential moments in life such as falling in love, getting married, having children and growing old. The fact that nine years later, The Sims is still the biggest selling PC game of all time is a true testament to its popularity. Numerous expansion packs and one sequel later, 2009 sees the release of the third title in the franchise. The Sims 3 implements some great new mechanics, yet the true potential of the title seems to have fallen short.
