Gamecentral special: InFamous against Prototype

Gamecentral writes: "For people with a limited budget it can be a difficult choice between Prototype and Infamous. The two games are lately very often compared. However, is this comparison justified? And what are just the differences? We put some elements from both games against each other so you will have for yourself an informed choice."

They only get to Play '1'!!! ;-D That 'IS' SAD!!! ;-D

-MD-5442d ago

MAG is just CG videos and KZ2 is old news.

MW2 is the best of the 3 and 360 owners get to play it on Live you know with an actual friends list and communication between players.

terrandragon5442d ago

It's a sad day when someone that can't even write out complete sentences gets bubbles. Is the fanboyism really that low? :D

JasonPC360PS3Wii5442d ago

The only people that will buy this game are all in this thread :)

Major_Tom5440d ago

Cool? Who cares? Theres like 10 people who bought Mass Effect for Xbox 360 an that's a great game, albeit the Xbox version ruins it.

Looking forward to prototype too, but i don't consider them to be competitors anymore - not because i think one is better than the other, but because they're aiming for different things. (Pathetic how i have to edit my post to explain myself).

The story and depth to inFamous really suprised me, has great character and story development, really well done.

Prototype will just be an over the top smash everything up till it dies type of game, which yeah, is fun too :p

Foxgod5442d ago

Well, since you havent played Prototype yet, i dont think you can make a fair judgment about its story.

really duh5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

Hmm Prototype has much deeper gameplay and seems to have a well thought out story. If you are trying to say Prototype is simple you are mistaken you have it backwards. Read on it.

PotNoodle5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

Nah, i'm just going off what the developers have said in NEARLY EVERY INTERVIEW THEY HAVE GIVEN.

Honestly, what is this? You're pathetic, i'm giving reasons why i'm excited for prototype and i still get attacked?

Vicodin5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

Prototype is nothing more than another Incredible Hulk game with barely better than last gen graphics.

It lucked out getting released near InFamous and hence has been latched onto by certain gaming media people as something to hype far beyond its actual worth.

Prototype is a brain dead wait until it drops to the 20 dollar bargin bin game.

really duh5442d ago

Infamous isn't even in the same ballpark when it comes to gameplay diversity and offerings. The world in Prototype is far more dynamic also effecting mission diversity

really duh 25442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

never mind.

PotNoodle5442d ago

Oh, now i see why you're doing this. You can't accept that the PS3 has a good game?

inFamous is much more than just running around with lightning. Please play it through before you talk.

And it looks like someone forgot to log out of their other account!

Tell me, what problem do you have with people enjoying two games?

Why can't i say inFamous is good, am i saying it is better than prototype? No, i'm not - because i havn't played it, all i have said is that from what i see is it will be a certain type of game, i'm not saying that is bad.

CoxMulder5442d ago

@ Deathrow

I agree,
everybody with half a brain (or not just an xbox) seems to reach this same conclusion..

From the article:
"Do you attach more value to story, depth and personality then Infamous looks like the better choice. But the best tip I can give is: buy them both.

Only the fanboys at gamekings.nl said that because of the gore of prototype & the comicy(?) look of infamous, prototype is the game for the more "mature" gamer. Never mind story, depth, moral dilemmas and personality, excessive gore makes a game mature in their eyes...

F**kin tools...

really duh5442d ago

Prototype's anti hero is a shape shifter and uses his powers to change onto other people this helps with all sort of missions. The malee combat is much more deep and so is the weapon use not mention the vehicle use.

PotNoodle5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

Fair enough, i'm actually really looking forward to prototype for that very reason.

I'm just saying inFamous is a fantastic game too, stop attacking me for saying so. And don't shrug it off as just some guy running around with electric, because it is more than that and is a really fun game to play.

If i tell you i'll get prototype for my 360 will you leave me alone? :P

Vicodin5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

Prototype really never stood a chance against inFamous.

1. Radical Entertainment is a mediocre dev who has never really put out anything but a string of mediocre titles over the years. Whereas Sucker Punch made the famous Sly Cooper platform series which is why everyone talks about how incredible inFamous controls just running and climbing.

2. PS3 Blu-Ray disc and the massively more powerful PS3 graphics hardware for inFamous compared to Prototype having to be designed to run on the significantly weaker 360 graphics hardware and stupid 7 gigabyte 360 DVD format

inFamous vs. Prototype is very akin to Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD. HD-DVD was latched onto for the sole reason that it wasn't from Sony by a certain niche demographic who didn't care it was an inferior product. All that mattered was that it was the 'not Sony' product.

Edit:

LOL! really_duh spamming the disagree buttons with multiple accounts!

really duh5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

People are disagreeing because they simply think Prototype looks better and you are attacking people and bashing consoles with rabid furry. Why did you make a new account for this post?

PotNoodle5442d ago

So whats the excuse for disagreeing with me?

Everyone hates both inFamous and prototype? Cool.

heroicjanitor5442d ago

He is the one disagreeing with everyone and agreeing with himself, what a pathetic loser just get lost and it's funny that you accidentally commented with "really duh 2". Is there a really duh 3,4,5,6,7 etc?

Why have you dedicated so much of your life to disagreeing with people? It has no actual value, it won't make anyone else agree with you, and it doesn't look like you are winning... For you're own health, just give it up, go outside and play football.

poindat5442d ago

Wow, what is with this massive conflict between the games? Buy, both. InFamous is fantastic, and I'm sure that Prototype will be amazing too. If you can't play both, then there is no reason for you to even get into these discussions.

They are both going in different directions. I used to think that they would be incredibly similar, but now that I have actually played InFamous, it is clear that it and Prototype are going to have vast differences.

In the end, as long as you have the console to do so, it probably will be best to pick up both.

SevWolf5442d ago

pippoppow5442d ago

Only 360 fanboys get all riled up to defend prototype because they only get that one game and PS3 gets both. Pathetic really. The Devs for Prototype have alot to prove but it does look like a fun game at the least. Most PS3 owners will probably opt for Infamous over Prototype but may pick up Prototype eventually. Nice to have options.

seraph7415442d ago

@Vicodin (your name is annoying btw)

your comment about Blu-ray vs HDDVD and trying to relate to why Infamous will be better than Prototype is one of the dumbest things i have seen on N4G in a long time. I guess there is a reason i usually ignore the comments section on N4G. However, I was trying to get an honest opinion of what people thought instead of rabid fanboyism. Guess I should have expected it from N4(PS3)G.

anyway, Infamous is fun, but from the looks of the videos, Prototype looks a lot more fluid in terms of its gameplay and the graphics seem like they might actually have AA, lol. after playing infamous and seeing some of its flaws (repetitiveness, sub-standard graphics, lack of progress trackings, etc), i at least hope prototype will be better.

but, since I haven't played Prototype, will have to wait and see. for now, back to Infamous. if you have a PS3 and like sandbox games, definitely get both though, that's always the best solution.

Vicodin5442d ago

"Prototype looks a lot more fluid in terms of its gameplay and the graphics"

Oh god...

Montreafart5442d ago

Infamous eats prototype alive. Aint that the truth.

Why o why5442d ago

we know you find it hard to accept that ps3 fans will be getting 2 good games in the space of a month but thats just you. You are either somebody who works for n4g to garner hits, responses or whatever or a truly sad individual who cant let the f'boy mentality go. From what ive seen of the 2 games graphically Infamous has won. Those generic block buildings in the hulk remix look all to familiar with no real depth or personality. On the counter side the ability to control vehicles and other modes of transport goes to prototype (at the moment) The infamous story is well done for a game like this. Only time will tell if proto is anywhere near as strong. Its a pity that some will cling to one or the other BUT as it stands Infamous is better because ive played it. Ill make a conclusive argument after as I get to play both and some wont because they cant

ultimolu5442d ago

That's what they do man. They stack up those accounts just to disagree with people, as if the person is going to suddenly change their opinion. It shows that they a) have too much time on their hands and b) not real gamers.

On topic: I don't even know how Prototype plays yet so I can't really say which game is better than the other. But I do like Infamous a lot and I'm glad I bought it.

Make that 12 exclusives I have so far. I think I'm gonna be up to sixteen or seventeen soon. Dammit Sony, damn you...*shakes a fist*

xwabbit5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

people with multiple accounts are disagreeing lol, maybe u know some ?

Arnon5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

@Vicodin

First off, graphics should be your least concern regarding a sandbox game.

Second, Blu-ray has nothing to do with it. There's many games on the PS3 that were made for blu-ray that do not look that great rofl.

@Everyone else

Lol ok. Let me say right now, that I'm almost finished with inFAMOUS. On 'hard' difficulty. The reason I put quotes on that is because it's like playing a game on easy. It even 'promoted' me to hard mode because of how quickly I was going. I've already collected about 75% of all the shards in the game and have only put in about... 8-10 hours of gameplay. The main focus of this game is it's story. Period. Which is something that is almost pointless in a open-world sandbox game. Powers are bland (there's what?.. 10 for each morale?), the game is often glitch-ridden with silly things such as missions disappearing off of your map or you losing control of Cole's movements for a bit.. Cole is a little to "grabby" with the environment. And in all honesty.. it feels like a slow-paced game for you being a super hero. The game feels very clunky at times as well. The game to me warrants about an 8 to 8.5. But it's nowhere near something to say 'fantastic'. Even some of my die-hard PS3 fans agree with that. The only thing that really makes this game stand out is the climbing, human body movement, and it's extremely well thought-out decision-making morale system.

Lemme just say that I've played much better games on my PS3, and honestly should have just rented this.

Montreafart5442d ago

Because Prototype might even have turned out to be a decent game. But now that its stacked against one of the best sandbox games out there, Infamous, its just no chance at all.

Infamous destroys Prototype and the poor developers are now at the mercy of PS3 fans on whether or not they will purchase the game.

yet another decent game ruined by the bots in their never ending jihad against the PS3.

Vicodin5442d ago

@Arnon

Dude, give it a rest. No one is falling for your crap.

Arnon5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

Is it hard being stupid?

I could prove it to you by posting the entire plot and story to you, if you like. I can also tell you every power and power-up you are able to obtain in the game. I could ruin important moments.. I could do a whole lot. You choose.

Lemme guess.. the majority of you have not even played inFAMOUS but are bragging about it. Lolz.

JHUX5442d ago

lol good ol why dis... gives 360fanboys an even worse name for themselves.

Why o why5442d ago

just curious, what scores would you give gears 2 and halo 3? You seem a touch overcritical plus ur 8-10 hours and 75% claim seem a bit off. Anybody can spoil a plot, all that takes is the right google. Im not saying infamous is perfect or anything like that but u seem to be bagging on it for bagging on its sake and personally ive never rushed or got that far into a game i didnt like. I agree with ur 8.5 score though. maybe 8.75 to 9 even because of the games (genre) its competing against and there really aren't that many

Arnon5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

Gears of War 2: 8.7 - 9.4
Halo 3: 8.5 - 9.3 range

I'm not saying I didn't like inFAMOUS. It's enjoyable. But it def. has faults that come to front. Also, you can check my trophies if you'd like. 8.5 - 9 seems about right.

PSN ID:

Arnon01

I have about 35% to 37% of the trophies already. Got the game about 2-3 days ago.

Why o why5442d ago

to that ill say finish it then post a review. Your score will probably change.

Ju5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

8-10h, 75% shards? Nope. Don't believe you.

Well, let me say, if you say 8-10h gameplay (missions+all sidemissions) + 75% shards, then I don't believe you. If you do just that, go collect shards, well, yeah, I can think that's possible in 8-10h.

Cajun Chicken5442d ago

That I will, Thoreau, that I will.

Black Maverick5442d ago

It's funny how you got all those disagrees by making a factual statement that no rational person could disagree with. I've never understood this desire by some Xbox fans to go around bashing and hating on PS3 games especially when some claim they don't even want one. Prototype is multiplatform. Doesn't matter which game you think is better, if you own a PS3, you can play Prototype and Infamous. If you only own an Xbox, then the only game you can play is Prototype so what does it matter to you if Infamous is better or not. This fanboy crap gets lower and lower everyday.

raztad5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

I got inFAMOUS, but I NEED a demo before to buy prototype. Not way Im gonna make a blind purchase, even if someone else review says Prototype is AWESOME, I need to try it by myself.

Several contradictory reviews of inFAMOUS poping up constantly and crazy stuff as GTA4 fiasco, taught me a lesson, trust only your own opinion.

Btw, Prototype is just around the corner. Not word about the demo?

Why o why5442d ago

some 360 guys just cant take it. Its annoying for them to see that ps3 guys can possibly get 2 great games, one of which has already proved itself in terms of quality. If prototype doesnt score as well the 360 guys will be doubly pissed. I hope prototype is as good as infamous as 2 great games is better than 1.

I got the chance to play this on a friends PS3 last night. I didn't see much, just some stomping around a train track in the demo and general gameplay elements and I must say, I wasn't all that impressed. It looked solid, don't get me wrong, but was clunky and quite slow.

Crackdown still holds the title for me and I hope to high heaven MS actually announces a Crackdown 2!

Vicodin5442d ago

Wow, who would have thought an Xbox 360 owner would give such an honest opinion...LOL!

Cajun Chicken5442d ago

Be fair, Crackdown was good, but Infamous is more like an open world Uncharted with missions that place you in different areas of the city, not even the same type of game.
Prototype however, looks more like Crackdown's gameplay with some innovative ideas put in there too.

PirateThom5442d ago

If there's two things inFamous certainly isn't, "clunky and slow" would be right up there.

Rifle-Man5442d ago

The inFamous demo is good, but don't judge the entire game by it, because it is much better than the demo implies.

The missions are varied and original, and the gameplay is fast-paced and intense. There's one mission where you have to chase down a helicopter and the only way to keep up with it is to grind power lines from building to building. At one point I thought I'd missed a jump and I actually gasped, but Cole grabbed the line at the last second. I couldn't believe that I was so immersed in the game that, for a second, I thought I was actually falling.

InFamous doesn't have very deep gameplay you go around shot people with lighting that's it.

Now on the other Prototype has very deep gameplay you can kill people , assume they're form , destroy tanks and so much more plus it has a great story and graphics unlike inFamous.

Now it's obvious to any one who has an IQ above 10 which game is better but of course the blind Sony fanboys will disagree just because they can't accept that Prototype is better.

PirateThom5442d ago

Go and play inFamous before talking nonsense.

PirateThom5442d ago

Why dis is forced to defend a multiplatform title, failing to realise, if you have a PS3, you can play both inFamous and Prototype.

CoxMulder5442d ago (Edited 5442d ago )

@ PirateThom

yea it's sad really, the biggest morons always seem to have the biggest mouth too...

OT:

Thinking about picking up prototype, but still not sure.

The stealth-gameplay really interested me, and would offer some more (ACTUAL) diverse gameplay.
But is it still stealth gameplay if you can fly into the enemy base, running up buildings etc. as long as you're wearing some soldier's skin?
Nah.. then it's more like a tacked on gimmick for the marketing division imo.

Awaiting more reviews before I make my decision on this one..

EDIT:
@Vicodin

Yes, definitely

really duh5442d ago

That's not me that would be a ps3 fanboy mimicing me to turn even more people against me

raztad5442d ago

@CoxMulder

I feel the stealth gameplay in prototype is just a gimmickry to make the game more variated.

I fail to see why such a powerful dude needs to get stealthy. Even more I fail to see why such a powerful dude needs to hijack a helicopter, it doesnt make sense.

I really hope Protoype is good, so 360 fans like really_duh_n == why dys, got something good to play and give inFAMOUS a break.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos3h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto2h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger882h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

The inFamous games deserve more love from Sony

The inFamous games are an important part of PlayStation history, but the series is in limbo and playing older entries isn't exactly easy.

Would like remasters of 1 and 2. I enjoyed them much more than Second Son.

1 & 2 had more of an emphasis on climbing and the traversal requires a bit more effort in a good way. It was rewarding. Second Son made climbing mostly obsolete so they put little effort into it. The traversal was just great in inFamous 1 & 2. There's a reason Sunset Overdrive copied and improved upon the induction grind mechanic.

Reminds me of how I felt about the decline of parkour and the well designed tombs (basically Prince Of Persia levels) that we saw in the Assassin's Creed games.

The story and atmosphere were also much better in 1 & 2.

Electricity is just a brilliant superpower for an open world city. It perfectly fits just like webslinging does in New York and it has many applications.

Cacabunga66d ago

For sure.. one of my favorite Sony licenses

Shane Kim66d ago

Loved one and two. I actually liked the story as well.

Minute Man 72166d ago

The standalone DLC was a sweet

jznrpg66d ago (Edited 66d ago )

I enjoyed Second Son but it was too short. The first 2 were great though

-Foxtrot66d ago

Second Son was alright but didn't touch the first two games

It felt short and lacking in comparison

Also I really thought Reggie would have made a better protagonist, someone who is anti-conduit as much as him and ends up becoming one would have been interesting to see. I kind of enjoyed his character throughout the game as his development.

badz14965d ago

why is it right now, the thing I want the most from Sony is to release remasters of inFamous (1,2 & SS), KZ (1,2 & 3), Resistance (RFoM, 2 and 3) and Motorstorm (1,2 & 3)??

The_Hooligan65d ago

All great choices. I would like to add Warhawk/Starhawk to that. The multiplayer in Warhawk was amazing. I am surprised Sony hasn't looked into MAG either. That game was ahead of its time.

Maybe Sony should make an internal studio like Bluepoint games and all they do is remake/remaster these amazing games, even going back to PS1,PS2,PSP, Vita portfolio. And because of the recent articles suggesting cost cutting, budget issues and releasing more games on PC, they could do that with these remakes/remasters. Do a day one on PC and PS5. At the end of the day Sony or any other company is going to do what makes them the most money.

kpgs66d ago

Wouldn't the onus be on the consumers? If they bought the Infamous games, then we'd have more games from that series.

KwietStorm_BLM66d ago

Infamous has sold millions of units. People have been asking for more. They aren't interested. Just like people have been asking for more Resistance or even a remaster collection, but insomniac isn't revisiting that either. Likely never getting a new sequel since they're a Marvel studio now.

LucasRuinedChildhood66d ago (Edited 66d ago )

No. Infamous was successful. But after a few entries (which are taking longer to make these days) a lot of Sony studios move on to new IPs. That's not a bad thing at all. They don't need to make inFamous games forever, just like we didn't need new Sly Cooper games forever.

But people would like to be able to easily play them on current hardware which is reasonable. Same for Killzone, Resistance, MGS4, etc. Good games shouldn't be trapped on old hardware. It's good that Bluepoint ported Uncharted 1-3.

kpgs66d ago

I'm not saying it wasn't successful. I enjoyed playing all 3 entries and DLC. But like you said, people move on, studios move on. But I don't think I've heard people asking for more Infamous in a long time.

Profchaos66d ago

The franchise was popular we got quite a few games but Suchet punch wanted to beach out I think that's why we got ghost of Tsushima over infamous 4

Tbh ghost is a fantastic game I'm not complaining about that but I'd love to see infamous handled by another team

jznrpg66d ago

Id take GoT2 over Infamous right now but after GoT2 or maybe 3 if they go trilogy I’d like a new Infamous.

badz14965d ago

that's the problem with Sony that puzzles me A LOT! they have studios specifically specialized in remastering and remaking old games for new gen hardware, but we are getting very few of them. SoTC, Uncharted collections, Demon's Souls Remake, TLoU Part 1...and?? that's it? why aren't they giving their old games new lease of life on the PS5 for the new generations of gamers to enjoy? they clearly have the expertise. for god sake, I can even accept lazy porting like Nintendo are doing for theirs if I have to.

FinalFantasyFanatic65d ago

There are a lot of games that consumers have been asking Playstation for, Playstation won't do it, so a lot of these developers have gone and made it themselves by any means possible such as Kickstarter (e.g. Armed Fantasia, Penny Blood, Ratatan, 100 Heroes, ect...). Developers have even asked if Sony could help them out with porting/remasters some of these older games for Playstation, they said no.

Crows9065d ago (Edited 65d ago )

Um...dude like you say that as if nobody bought them....the devs went on to do ghosts after 3 infamous games....3

People ask for new resistance and new infamous at every moment where it makes sense to mention it.

TravsVoid66d ago (Edited 66d ago )

If they keep any of the characters from the previous games I think it would do fine unlike Saints Row which decided to replace fan favorites with less likable replacements. I wouldn't be surprised if that decision caused a majority of their buyers to be new to the series rather than returning players. I will say though, if Infamous Second Son or the first two Infamous games were remade I would be a day one buyer on PC.

Nixxes Software Can't Go Wrong With An Infamous Remaster

Nixxes' Remaster focus could set the stage to resurrect many obscure titles like the karma-centered, superpower-fueled sandbox of Infamous.

maniacmayhem283d ago

Infamous remaster? How about an Infamous re-Boot! This is one game that doesn't need a remaster, it needs either a proper equal of a reboot of the original. And since Sony is currently in development with Marvel, i can totally see them having guest marvel characters to appear in Cole's world.

BanginTunes281d ago

This is one of the worst things I have ever read

1Victor281d ago

I would prefer Warhawk or Starhawk ether or both will keep us fans happy for a looooooooong time

The_Hooligan281d ago

Warhawk would be awesome! So many good memories playing that game on PS3. They could do a massive 50v50 mode, battle royal with last Warhawk standing, classic 20v20 mode, so many options.

shinoff2183281d ago

I'd rather infamous. Sonys got enough online bs in the pipeline. No need to add more.

1Victor281d ago

@shinoff I disagree with you both of those games was extraordinarily fun to play just the satisfaction of transforming your plane into a bot and stomp a enemy then transform and fly off on Starhawk was a experience that hasn’t been replicated since.
The game was extremely valanced to the point you could go against a tank on foot and win with the ratchet or 1 shot a plane doing a massive attack with your tank. In Warhawk you could pick up half your team and fly them to a base and take it over but those are experiences you had to play to know how awesome those game was even YouTube videos don’t do justice to those game.
Anyways I’ll stop here or I’ll run out of words to post a wall text taking about those games

Christopher281d ago

Here's the thing, infamous and *hawk are such different games and with different audiences that Sony could... do both at the same time? Nixxes doesn't need to be involved in the shooter (that would be new for them I think since they usually do SP games) but someone else could and Nixxes could share support with development/engine needs.

shinoff2183281d ago

1victor

Ya know Christopher is right they are completly different games. Me personally I don't value online games I just don't care for them. Hell in another bubble I probably enjoy them. In this bubble nah I just prefer single player unless I'm playing Mario or Mario party with my girl and kids or something.

@shin of course I know Chris is right but the games have to be approved first before assignment to a studio I didn’t mean this studio in particular making those game I meant the approval process and Sony harder push on MMO games.
I’m just one of the millions of players that loved those game and a top 800 word wide ranked on Starhawk and proud owner of its platinum trophy

A remaster would allow people who don't have access to a ps3 to experience the game since there's so many stuck on the ps3 that are exclusive to the console and Sony refuses to invest in backwards compatibility

darthv72281d ago

Who doesnt have access to a ps3? There were over 87m of them sold. They are cheap and easy to find. Just like wii and ps2.

shinoff2183281d ago

Or maybe it's just not ready yet, ps3 was a different kinda animal.

DankSinatra281d ago

@darthv72

Not everyone is willing to go out and buy a ps3 for a single game or a handful of games when they have a ps4 or a ps5. A port or remaster would actually help. Younger audiences who did not grow up with a ps3 would have exposure to these games that Sony has essentially left behind on the ps3 due to them not investing in backwards compatibility. If they would do backwards compatibility then we wouldn't need to shill out more money for the same games. Something I actually applaud microsoft for (the only thing they have done that's good).

zaanan281d ago

Agree, and PS3 is getting long in the tooth, so failure rates will be going up. I had to send my slim in for repair years ago.

shinoff2183281d ago

I had a couple extra dollars and came across I guy selling ps3s for 50. I bought all 4. Just felt it was a good deal. Now if I could find controllers. I swear I can't find any cheap controllers around me

jeromeface281d ago

go back to marvel avengers, sounds like more your cup of tea

KwietStorm_BLM281d ago

You know what, now that I think about it.. yeah none of that makes any sense.

TheKingKratos281d ago (Edited 281d ago )

Lol 😂😂😂

Christopher281d ago

Yes to a reboot, absolutely no to Marvel characters in it.

maniacmayhem281d ago

*either a proper equal of a reboot of the original. *

Damn, there needs to be an extension on the Edit feature.

"Either a proper sequel or a reboot of the original"

And people aren't with Cole interacting with cameos from Marvel? Especially with Sony making Spider Man and Wolverine?

Why exactly would that be a bad idea? Especially with the multiverse being a huge deal and all.

Christopher281d ago

***Why exactly would that be a bad idea? Especially with the multiverse being a huge deal and all.***

There's enough Marvel. Let's not spread it everywhere and let other IPs be their own thing. Please.

neutralgamer1992281d ago

Infamous 1-2 collection would be amazing on current generation. God of War 1-2 and PSP games also playable on PS5 Yes please. And last but not least MGS4

There are so many great games which are on PS3. We need them to be remastered and released for current generation.

Idk why sony hasn't done remasters for 1+2 yet. Such great gems.

RaidenBlack283d ago

I'd like a Killzone 2 Remaster.
Keep the visuals style as is ... just improve the LoD and the resolution

ArchangelMike281d ago

Now that COD is in Microsofts back pocket, it's time for Sony to start investing in it's own 1st party shooters. I loved Killzone - even Shadowfall. But Yeah Killzone 2 was the high point of the Franchise.

ClayRules2012281d ago

Yes. KZ2 was the high point of the franchise and a strong, solid and just bloody fantastic shooter! Had so much fun those days with the game.

Neonridr281d ago (Edited 281d ago )

Shadowfall was my first introduction into the series as the PS4 was my first Sony console. Maybe compared to the others it was not great (personally I don't know), but I had a blast playing it and found it quite enjoyable. I'd love a Trilogy Remaster though so I could go back and enjoy the original 3 for the first time (with a new coat of paint + updated controls)

shinoff2183281d ago

Naw were good. There's plenty in the sea

zaanan281d ago

It’s about damn time for a Resistance trilogy remaster!

long-time-gamer281d ago

Most def the highest point of the franchise, the music, gameplay and story was awesome

ironmonkey281d ago

absolutely right! killzone has been quiet long enough since ps4 release date.

man id love a killzone 2 remaster, its one of my favorite games of all time, but who knows what shape that code in and where its at, prob wont happen under jim ryan though! you can keep your fingers crossed though and see what happens but GG is all about Horizon now

Vits282d ago

There is a lot of the PS3 era that I would love to see ported/remastered. But, unfortunately, they are probably not commercially viable and I have no idea who owns the rights currently. Stuff like Sire: Blood Curse, White Knight Chronicles, Tokyo Jungle, Folklore, etc.

Infamous on the other hand was never a series that I found good or interesting. Especially when compared with other contemporaries like Prototype. But, given how bare the subgenre is right now, I would dig a remaster.

BehindTheRows281d ago

Sony owns Siren. I can’t speak for the rest.

As for inFAMOUS vs Prototype, I feel the opposite. inFAMOUS mopped the floor with it, quality and gameplay. Just felt far more polished. That said, I enjoyed Prototype’s powers a little more.

Vits281d ago

Fair enough, I agree that the production values of inFamous were higher. But I found it to be a snore-fest.

darthv72281d ago

...no meed. Sony could add ps3 support to the 5 and then people can play loads of games already available. No streaming required. Rpcs3 could be adapted to run on the 5... it would solve so many problems.

Vits281d ago

No need, because they instead could do these two other things that they have shown no interest in doing? Sure.

Shane Kim281d ago

But then they couldnt charge you for remaster (even though I would love one for infamous) or charge you for PSN premium.

darthv72281d ago

It would be even funnier if the series x gets rpcs3 support and can play the ps3 games while ps5 still cannot (not without streaming them)

shinoff2183281d ago

Don't most people still have issues with rpcs3. It's not as stable as alot of emulators out there. From what I've read

My kids and I had a fun time in Tokyo Jungle!

long-time-gamer281d ago

prototype def was not on the same level as infamous far as gameplay or graphics

Pocahontas280d ago

It was legitimately bad game.

Infamous, Resistance, and killzine are so ripe for a remaster, I wish Sony would make it happen.
