If, for any reason, you have a damaged Microsoft® Xbox 360 disc and like to replace it, please review the information below: THIS PROGRAM IS GOOD ONLY FOR XBOX 360 CONSOLE OWNERS IN COUNTRIES WHERE XBOX 360 IS SOLD AT AUTHORIZED RETAIL LOCATIONS.
Wow Now thats what im talking about! But now what excuse will the modders have to back up games!
the disc replacement costs 20 dollars!!! look at the order form... that's a bit of a rip off, but i guess it is cheaper than buying a new game if a new game would be more expensive than that. And i suppose this covers damages not caused by the system (so if you snap it in half.)
Xbox Disc Replacement Program Currently Available Game Titles The following game titles are currently available for this program: * Crackdown™ * Fuzion Frenzy 2 * Gears Of War® * Halo® 2 * Kameo™: Elements of Power™ * Ninety Nine Nights™ * Perfect Dark Zero™ * Project Gotham Racing® 3 * Viva Piñata™ * Xbox Live® Arcade Unplugged Vol. 1 Pretty sparse.
microsoft probably can only replace first party titles because it is microsoft that is paying for the manufacturing of said titles. Microsoft does not manufacture nor pay for the manufacturing of third party titles and thus does not have access to the excess stock of those games.
Great Post.. my Gears disc is slowly cracking from the inside out, thought I would have to buy a new one.... !
Great find, i'm gonna get my Project Gotham 3 and Gears of War disc replaced. Looks like my 360 is also dying on me...what a terrible shame! Just have to get the Elite i reckon...what a harsh life hey!
On small problem digital distrubution will reduce to nothing.
thats awesome my gears disk broke two weeks ago and i dident want to pay 60$. Icryo my 360 died on me this morning I was so pissed off. I have been hearing all these stories about 360's dying and i was like well i guess i'm one of the lucky one's well i guess my luck ran out but now I have a good excuse to get an Elite. but if the Halo 3 beta comes out before then I might have to kill someone. I have no idea what i'm gonna do for the next month, but I think i can make it.
Did you signed up just to say this? What a loser. I wonder which Sony fanboy created this new account. 2 posts.
NO bladestar i visit this site almost every day I just am not the type of person who feels like i have to make a comment about every article. Because 99% of the time it will start some kind of mindless argument. I don't care witch console is the best and to tell you the truth there is no such thing as the best console b/c it is all a matter of your own opinion. I love my 360 and even though it died I still fell as if I got my money's worth cause i played the hell out of it. And I will be getting an Elite
Why do you need this? I don't get it. Do you guys break your disks that often?
They should replace it for free, period. At tethered: Some of the earliest 360's (maybe later ones too)could crack the disc around the hole in the middle, making the game unplayable. My friend's Tiger Woods disc cracked and he didn't get anything in return, warranty didn't cover it. I would feel cheated. And now you get to pay 20$ extra for a game you didn't break yourself. Yippie!
So what you are saying is, MS early hardware is faulty and messes up disks? You are also saying they wont pay for the damage their faulty machine does to the disk? Wow. I knew the early ones had some problems and I knew this kinda thing happened but I thought they fixed them and paid for the disks that were damaged. Again wow. Why wouldn't they pay for them when it was their hardware was at fault? I would be kinda pissed about that. I smell a class action lawsuit.
Well in my case, I know that I Personally cracked the disc. I had the Gears Limited edition and wanted to put it in a normal sized case instead of the tin and I picked a case that, looking back was a bad choice. It was very tough to get the disc out. So in my case, I am going to save $40 on the deal. now if the game cracked on its own, yes I would be upset at having to fork over $20.
Ok in your case, God Of Gaming, I can understand being happy about the deal.
Go rent the same game from Blockbuster or Gamefly and then return your defective disc in it's place. Works like a charm, they are too stupid to know any different. forget paying 20.00 for a replacment.
I think they figure out the problem, fix it, and the release warranty information to reduce losses... Glad my Ps3 has had a FULL 1 year warranty by Sony from the start. another thing that Microsoft screwed its customers over on and yet another thing Sony did right.
By the way, don't you have some paint chips or broken glass to go eat!?
i guess this is MS way of dodging the fact that their systems fuk disks up.
This is just like the warranty! What a bunch of idiots.. Glad 360 users are getting screwed hard.. What goes around comes around eh? HA HA HA The breakbox 2000 not only overheats it will detroy your discs! Rechargable batteries not included!
If anybody wants to gather all the Sony fanboys in one place here is what you have to do. Post an article about the xbox 360 they will rush in here like dogs after a 3itch in heat. I guarentee you that they are more interested in xbox 360 articles than PS3 articles. I love this site, it entertains me. What would I do without these fking losers?
this trick applies to baiting ppl from both sides, tsk tsk tsk
This just seems more like a way for Microsoft to say, "Hey, look what we are doing. Hey, hey, look at this! Sony isn't doing this!" But this program is nothing special. I can't see many people using it anyways. I've never broken a game disc in my life, how the hell do people pull that off? The only thing that has ever happened was my old 360 started scratching my Rainbow Six Vegas disc out of nowhere. I opened the tray as quickly as I could and it had a half circle ring around it. I went to a CD store that has a good buffer and spent $2 to get it buffed, and now it works fine again. What pissed me off most was it was my second 360, so I had to send it in and get a third, AND they would do nothing about my scratched up game (this was before I got it buffed, I wasn't sure if it would ever work again.) They didn't offer me a single thing for the disc... Then, weeks later my friend has the same thing happen to him on a different game, although it was his fault because he moved the 360 (just didn't tell them about that part,) and guess what... They told him they would send him another 360 game, either Kameo or PGR3. I guess I got stuck with the asshole operator. Anyways, way off subject. Stop breaking your discs.
Freakin $20, nice
How can mens come on this site and defend MS My loyalty is to my pocket and no damn company fock companys if my product is defective they have to pay My saints row disc is broken scratched up by the 360 im pissed but i aint gonna spend a extra £20 on a £50 game i didnt break Looks like the new dvd drives and firmware to slow down the drive and reduce noise maybe the only way to combat this problem NOT ripping you off £20 all the time
360 fans give their opinions about the subject good or bad they're not looking to mindlessly attack the PS3, no 360 fan is looking for any little issue the PS3 has so they can attack the PS3 to make themselfs feel better about the 360 the way Sony fans do to make themselfs feel better about the PS3, MSs being attacted for being on top and the fanboys knows what is coming. If you can find a wild pack! of angry rabid 360 fans running around in every PS3 thread saying the PS3 sucks, the PS3s garbage, the PS3's for idiots, the PS3bots can keep their P-crap-box Sonys ripping you off etc etc; rabidly attacking PS3 fans for little reason please let me know.
A little defensive there aren't you? MS should replace any disc their faulty machine breaks for free. How is saying that being a fanboy? If the PS3 or the Wii did this type of thing I think Sony and Nintendo should replace them too, for free, not for $20. Another thing. Anyone that has had this problem with the 360 and decided to trade it in for a different system is the complete opposite of a fanboy. Why in the world would they stick up for a company that totally screwed them over? The people that defend MS after this kinda thing happens are the real fanboys.
matter of fact, i've seen you jump on PS3 threads with your kind words.
this is just one reason i sold my 360. it cracked my pgr3 disc and i had to get a new copy. i didnt want to have to keep dealing with these kind of problems.
but then forgot bout it as my rainbow six has a HUGE crack in it (dont know how or when) so thats a bit different
