Sega Japan has announced that it will be ceasing its repair service for Sega Dreamcast consoles from 28 September 2007, effectively putting the final nail in the coffin regarding its business in the hardware market.
I didn't even know that they were still supporting the Dreamcast.
Goodbye old friend.
R.I.P i hated the dreamcast
I hated the way it got code veronica x first ¬¬
my buddy. You have given me hours of time with Marvel vs Capcom, Code Veronica, Shen Mu, and Soul Calibur. You will not be forgotten. I could honestly say .. their will never be another GD-ROM that I liked more than you!
Not beloved Dreamcast...This console did a lot of things FIRST. Xbox live had nothing on this when it came out..lol SEGA just always had bad timing with it's consoles. Some of my Favorites: 2K series(Funk EA) Jet Grind Radio(please bring this one back) Ikaruga Power Stone Rez Samba De Amigo Virtua Tennis & Tennis 2K2 Bangai-O Crazy Taxi Soul Calibur(Favorite Fighter) Street Fighter 3:Third Strike Fatal Fury - Mark of the Wolves Marvel vs Capcom 2 Skies of Arcadia Grandia 2 Shenmue Typing of the Dead Daytona USA 2001 Space Channel 5 I would like to see Jet Set Radio on the Wii. Using the Wii-motes as your spray can, sounds like a good idea. Go to Petitions.com and look it up..
MS wouldn't be a major player in the videogame industry these days if it weren't for the Dreamcast. MS developed many of the devtools for the console and the Dreamcast even sports a Windows logo on it. I still bust it out every so often to play Virtua Tennis, Metropolis Street Racer (which went on to become the Project Gotham series), Virtua Fighter 3, and Virtual-On. Great console, great games, bad timing.
My fave Dreamcast..... Im still playing it till these days.
Rest in peace, m'friend. You put up a valiant fight.
marvel vs capcom 2 on this system was the best
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo! DON'T DO IT SEGA! THERE ARE STILL PEOPLE WHO LOVE THE DREAMCAST AND PEOPLE ARE STILL MAKING GAMES FOR IT!!!!!!!!
You were ahead of your time, we shall never forget your innovation, alas market forces conspired against you. Hear my cry (in Spartan accent): "Let the Gods create Shenmue 3 in your memory!"
My PS1 may no longer even be a doorstop, but my Dreamcast is still alive and kicking. Goodbye old friend.
