TheGameReviews' Very British Gamer Sinan Kubba takes a look at the possibility of adding an olfactory element to gamers' favorite modern games.
Somehow the idea of smelling the cooked flesh of my foe after I've just burned them alive with a flamethrower seems less then ideal. I'm all into immersion, but this might be a bit too much.
Perhaps adding smell would make brutally violent games as physically repulsive as they should be morally?
The only problem I can see with smell is that it's something physical. You'd have to replace an odor pouch or something when it starts running low - and I never replace my printer ink cartridges.
