Just about every modern video game focuses heavily on realism, it is a factor that features a lot in most reviews and it finds its way into just about every nook and crevice possible. But is it really necessary? Surely the only reason we are playing video games is to escape the realities of life. Therefore if you are worried about realism then why not put down the controller and go join the army or kick a football? Just for these reasons, it seems as though realism may be on its way out of future games. Even now developers seem to be focusing more on the game play aspects rather than going for all out realism.
