From the Globe and Mail:
It's a good thing I didn't judge Toshiba's Qosmio X300-02K by its cover, which is awfully gaudy, even by gamer standards.
The evaluation unit sent to me from the beleaguered Japanese electronics giant had a partially mirrored lid plastered with bedazzling red flames-Toshiba calls the design "metallic bordeaux"-and an interior with clear plastic accents covering glowing crimson lights. It looked like something out of Flash Gordon. It's portly, too, measuring 62 millimetres at its thickest and tipping the scales at a whopping 4.12 kilograms-and that doesn't include the brick-like power adapter, which weighs almost a kilogram itself.
Still, as Han Solo might say, it doesn't matter what she looks like, just whether she's got it where it counts. And, if you're looking for a modest gaming rig, the X300-02K does.
