Fight Night Round 4: PS3 vs. 360 comparison screens

Fight Night Round 4 sports some very nice visuals, but which console offers the better? Are there even any differences? Cynamite has put up lots of comparison screenshots from both the PS3 and the 360 version of Fight Night Round 4.

No, there aren't.

There would not have been these comparisons if people didn't use Unreal Engine in the first place, which developers had a hard time using on the ps3. Other than that all games look alike.

Mindboggle3495d ago

There is no difference at all....both look incredible...

lordgodalming3495d ago

Wow, from these shots, not a stitch of difference. Kudos to the devs.

Aquanox3495d ago (Edited 3495d ago )

There IS a quite noticeable difference when you look at the Original Size pictures.

It seems that the PS3 version is once again using the Quinqux AA which is bluring the image in comparison to the Xbox 360 version.

Quite an achievement considering this hands down the game with best looking characters around and one of the best looking games overall.

What the heck happened with the lightning on PS3 here? :S

Xbox 360:

PS. Remember this game features "Real Time Muscle Flex", so the muscle definition will be dependant on the action the boxer is taking.

lordgodalming3495d ago (Edited 3495d ago )

Aquanox you must have eyes like a hawk. I can't see any blur or clarity difference in either shot, even in the background characters. The lighting IS quite different, though. I'm guessing the scene has either simulated photography flashes or some other dynamic lighting.

karan86243495d ago

I cant tell if either is better, i need a side-by side comparison.

callahan093495d ago (Edited 3495d ago )

What's wrong with the lighting on the PS3 version, Aquanox? Those two shots look identical except that the PS3 version is brighter. Looks like a flash bulb is going off at the moment of the screenshot, perhaps ... there's clearly an additional frontal light source on the PS3 shot. Clarity is lost due to lighting in BOTH shots. For PS3, the details of the boxer's shirt are lost due to the bright light reflecting off the white cloth, so you don't see the texture of the cloth; on the 360 shot, it's too dark to make out the hairs on the boxer's arms, chest, and face. I don't see any fault in the PS3 lighting. The 360 shot is a little on the dark side for my tastes.

I just "remembered" he is a south american 360 fanboy. WHO CARES?

Aquanox3495d ago (Edited 3495d ago )

What the heck does my avatar matter when I'm posting links to direct feed screenshots taken by a 3rd party?

Ohh these kids...

LONEWOLF2313495d ago

Yeah as Aquanox stated the PS3 version seems a bit more blurrier than the 360 version other than that both version look great.

As for the shot, it seems Mike Tyson is rollin Michael Jackson

Well anyways Good stuff and great Job Devs.

ReBurn3495d ago (Edited 3495d ago )

Wait, so are you saying that an avatar affects your credibility? If so then that's lame.

I think that the main difference between the pictures that Aquanox linked is that the PS3 shot has a flashbulb effect and the 360 picture does not. That's about it.

Overall the games are pretty much identical from the screenshots. The clear winner is the gamer if the game plays anywhere nearly as good as it looks.

U R A fanboy who works for microsoft everyone knows it

Information Minister3494d ago

...always play your games with 300% zoom! Otherwise you won't be able to tell the difference.

The Lazy One3494d ago

I just remembered, he is a cookie... WHO CARES?

PS: nice edit...

Kleptic3494d ago

Aquanox...the pics you posted look like a camera flash went off when they grabbed the PS3 version...if you watch the trailers, that entire seen with tyson has flash strobes going off on him from the media or whatever...could just be obviously that isn't 'just how it looks'...

i don't know though...the game play footage of the game hasn't impressed me as much as these cut-scene like looks great, just doesn't look that fun to play...and i am lossed where people are calling this the 'best looking game ever'...great character models, yes...but the animation and the way the fighters react with each other still seems clumsy at best to me...but whatever...thats just my opinion...

but the entire idea of Ali and tyson fighting is simply awesome...but anyone that ever watched either of these guys in their prime...would know Tyson would probably knock Ali's head off...if we are talking late 80's/early 90's tyson...there is little evidence to go against that...even if the guy is a complete idiot...

xwabbit3494d ago (Edited 3494d ago )

Aquanox all ima is LOL to those links, those shots aren't even shot at the same time frame, u got diff people in the 2 pics. Learn to make bs claims like IGN and gametrailers did with the video game comparisons. Dk y I even wasted my time looking, I just need to look at ur avatar to know if I should take it serious.

PS3istheshit23494d ago

seriously though there are way more polygons and texture in the ps3 version
more focus too

CobraKai3494d ago

I think there is slightly more detail in the nipple of one version but other than that, identical.

scheme_a3494d ago (Edited 3494d ago )

I'm almost certain it's just a flash from camera
I mean, they look pretty much the same on other pics, so wouldn't that be really the only reason they would look that drastically different?

edgeofblade3494d ago

Identical. In a double blind test, you would not be able to consistently pick the same console.

Tito Jackson3494d ago

Its a camera flash. Look at the edges of everything in the picture, you'll see shadows. A light is being cast upon thema(a flash prolly) from one direction, and its making a shadow. Duh.

Is it true that PS3 offers native 1080p?

talltony3495d ago (Edited 3495d ago )

then you know what version I'm getting.

Still their really is no difference from these pics from what I can tell.

solidsnakus3495d ago

its true, but only on a handfull of PSN games and a couple exclusive games. multiplats are never native 1080p.

7ero H3LL3495d ago (Edited 3495d ago )

they're both running at the same resolution, don't know if it IS 1080p or not though.

360 skin closeup.

360 window sill edge closeup

ps3 window sill edge closeup

the only thing i noticed different other than the skin was the anti aliasing level that both ps3 and 360 use.

solidsnakus3494d ago

360 version looks better. just look at those pics, ps3 version looks blury.

DelbertGrady3495d ago

The 360 version has less hats.

ultimolu3495d ago

>.> PS3 inferiorz!

DelbertGrady3495d ago

The 360 can't handle the intricate mobster hat physics and the PS3 can't handle the Steve Ballmer hairline.

Venomish3494d ago

pathetic just pathetic
these comparisons are pathetic
the story of a poor guy with a poor console trying to do whatever it takes to make his console look good.

point 1: multiplat games look identical
point 2: ps3 is better than xbox, get over it

kaveti66163494d ago

Spin it when you're able to spin it (Uncharted 2, Killzone 2), and don't spin it when you can't spin it (GTAIV, Silent Hill Homecoming, Fallout 3, etc).

:( Fanboys get butthurt.

SL1M DADDY3494d ago

True, but they make up for the lack of hats in the extra clothes on the ladies... No, I'm not saying that's a good thing.

Bigbangbing3495d ago

well, there is a HUGE differences

look at the last two pic (Muhammad Ali) you can clearly see two HATS on the PS3 Version and no HATS at all on the Xbox360 Version, this thanks to TEH CELL PEOWER :P

StanLee3495d ago (Edited 3495d ago )

It's all randomly generated. Like in the last frame with Mike Tyson; on the PS3 version the main trainer is black while in the XBox 360 version, the main trainer is white. You'll also come to notice that all the corner persons are all the same just randomly generated. In the black and white frame of Ali, the corner person over his left shoulder is wearing a different hat in each of the versions.

Bigbangbing3495d ago (Edited 3495d ago )

LOL, did you really think that my post was any serious?

of course it's Sarcasm :P

-chaz-3495d ago

Well you guys heard about those new SPU-powered hat shaders, didn't you? By next year, Sony might even start rendering socks on the SPUs!!!

Alcohog3495d ago

Confirmed: 360 is racist!

Megaton3495d ago

It's a shame the 360 still can't overcome the challenges of hat processing.

GUNS N SWORDS3495d ago (Edited 3495d ago )

no, every time you load a match the NP characters change in clothing.

look at the NPCs, there not the same.

Megaton3495d ago

lol @ people taking this seriously.

bomboclaat_gamer3494d ago (Edited 3494d ago )

lol @ them too.

Grown Folks Talk3495d ago (Edited 3495d ago )

of how many N4G posters will be playing both versions of this game side by side, at the same time? I have the setup in my gameroom to pull it off, but have absolutely no desire to pay for 2 copies of the same game. People will buy a copy for A) the system they own, or B) the system they have the controller preference for if they own more than 1. These articles are Fn retarded.

mastiffchild3495d ago

A, farkin, men to that brother. Even UE3 games now have differences so tiny that you only notuce them when they're pointed out. And that's on the system they're using for the comparison-which won't be the same as yours in any case.

Like you so rightly sat controller preference, single ownership and whether or you like to/can/don't like to/won't/will pay to pay online are the things that effect which one you choose to buy any game for-and def not the amoeba sized differences(usually unnoticeable during heated gameplay anyway)in games designed to look as close to each other as humanly possible.

Do these comaprison articles keep people in jobs? If they do then there's at least one reason for them to exist but I cannot imagine another-at least not now.
