A day and night cycle is a good addition assassinating someone in daylight seems wrong.

Ya know, now that you said it, youre right it kinda does.

I didn't really like far cry much. It was sort of too open and too boring. Having to drive all the way to this place and that place. e.t.c.

I didn't like assassins creed one either due to the repetitive nature.

Despite all this though, i am going to believe assassins creed 2 will be a good game

ceedubya93495d ago

was repetitive. That's probably why I never finished it. But I really do need to before part two comes out, just so that I will have completed the story.

I have to say, when i first got farcry 2 i was blown away, after the first couple of hours though it started to get to me.

the game play is rubbish, the story is rubbish, it did get very boring i have to agree, but at the same time, you can't deny it was a great looking game.

same thing with AC, i think both games on a technical level were very, very impressive. its just a shame the gameplay content didn't match up to it.
not sure if this was because they spent too much time focusing on the technical stuff or what, but both games suffered because of it.

the good thing about it is that now the engines are there and only need tweeking and adding too, they should "in theory" spend more time on getting the actual content right for the gameplay. If they have listened to the fans, there is no reason why AC2 will not be an amazing game. It has a great foundation to build on. The only problem is how many times have dev's not listened to the fanbase and F-up a game even more then they should have.

oh well, here is hoping. I still enjoyed AC and i still think Farcry was very impressive visually. lets just hope they get it right.

I loved the first game, though it was short and repetitive... anyway, i cant wait for this game. Still no Jade? If she starts talking about it now, it'll sell like pancakes.

The first game is still probably the best looking open world game to date. Can't wait for this one especially with the unique setting.

EDIT: Stupid thing scales down my picture

We will give you a couple more days with that theory.

mintaro3495d ago

I think it is too, even 2 years later Assassin's Creed looks pretty damn good.

SL1M DADDY3495d ago

I see what you did there...

*eagerly waits for inFamous*

sonarus3495d ago

I don't know if its the best looking but it certainly looked good. Definitely TOP 3 cus i can't think of any that looked better. Its not as open as other open world games and you had to load to get into different cities e.t.c.

The game was extremely glitchy though i remember that very well. It was always freezing and having loading problems

Matpan3495d ago

I do agree, both aesthetically and from a technical point of view it si still one of the best looking games to date IMHO. I speak for the PC version at least, with all maxed out, AF and AA it looks really impressive. Crysis surely has a lot over this one, but the way this ame handles climate and lighting in the 3 different main cities still amazes me, the croud density, how the city feels "alive".

Let´s hope for this new iteration they come up with a way to make the game seem more dynamic and varied.

Which is a better game? Infamous.

Which is a better looking game? Assassin's Creed.

Which game would I choose if I had to choose? InFamous.

What am I doing right now? Eating Chocolate cake from costco and wasting my vacation on the internet talking with you people.

So, basically, AC2 uses a variant of the FC2 engine. Cool.

i_like_ff73495d ago

No this isn't the dunia engine.

YeOldeGamer3495d ago

Which is why I said VARIANT. If you read between the lines, it's pretty obvious they've borrowed assets from Dunia for this game. The vegetation, the day/night cycle are likely BOTH from Dunia; no engine has done day/night better than FC2.

kaveti66163495d ago

Bioshock uses a variant of the Unreal engine. Halo 3 uses a variant of the Halo engine.

Assassin's Creed uses an entirely different engine from Dunia, with similar features.

Both inFamous and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic feature lightning effects. Does that mean that Infamous uses a variant of the Kotor Engine? No.

Face it, you fail.

Matpan3495d ago

Yeah!! let´s carry torches and poleaxes and chase him to the border of a cliff and have him choose... Jump or get sliced and torn to death! because you got a fact wrong!! WRONG!!! and you need to face your punishment!!!

oh.. I overdid it... again.
