IGN: Pre-E3 2009: Mass Effect 2 -- The Choices You Made

IGN writes: "One thing that won't be changing is the game's length. Expect Mass Effect 2 to be about as long as the original. Hudson promises that there will be more replayability this time around. "There are more choices and more paths that you can go out and diverge the story into," he said. And remember, the choices from Mass Effect 1 and 2 will carry into Mass Effect 3".

NOOOO!!!! Wow .... The one thing they need to do is make the game twice as long. 60 hours maybe 50 would be the best. I wanted KOTOR length man, not 30 hours. It's too short. Oh well the good thing is the replayability will be better, which is always good so I'm not totally bummed out.

"[Let's say] in Mass Effect 1, you decided that a really important character is going to die. In Mass Effect 2, you may or may not see that character alive, depending on what that choice was. If you want to see how that would be different, you would have to go back to Mass Effect 1, make a different choice and then bring that save into Mass Effect 2 to see how it affects the world." More important than a single character, at one point in the first Mass Effect, you chose whether or not to save an entire race from extinction. That is sure to have a profound affect in the sequel. "The fun for players is that it's not just a branching story, it's a multi-dimensional story and then there is branching within that."

Sounds very interesting. ~does happy dance~
