Along with the previously reported PSP 3.30 firmware upgrade (now available in North America), Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) today announced a partnership with T-Mobile to enable PSP owners to use T-Mobile's over 7,000 HotSpot locations at Starbucks coffee shops, Borders bookstores, Hyatt Hotels, and more than 70 major airports across the U.S.
The "limited time" offer features six months of Wi-Fi network access to T-Mobile HotSpot following the initial log-in on the T-Mobile HotSpot network on the PSP. After the six-month period is up, PSP owners will have the option to purchase a subscription at "a special rate." Those details will be made available directly on T-Mobile's website. According to the terms, PSP owners must log-in to the T-Mobile HotSpot Network by March 28, 2008, to access the six-month promotional period.
