New Yakuza game already in the works

However, Sega isn't planning on giving the notorious Kiryu a break. The latest issue of the weekly Famitsu confirms a new Yakuza game is in development. Details are still slim, with only scans of the magazine cover available at the moment, but it's been confirmed that the next entry into the series will be on the PS3.

HELL YES! Now just get Sega to localize the other damn games...

jams_shop5461d ago

Yes, please SEGA listen to this^ guy!

sonarus5461d ago

imo they should localize the first before workin on another one. Don't bring it to the states yrs after release like they did yakuza 2

gauntletpython5461d ago

I don't really care about Kenzan, I just want 3 over here.

Redempteur5461d ago

BUt please

Sega you should take less than 2 years to localise these games ...

SaiyanFury5461d ago (Edited 5461d ago )

I want Yakuza 3 here, but I'd also welcome Kenzan! I love Samurai-period games and would love to see it come here. If not Kenzan! then at least localise Yakuza 3. Yakuza 2 was bloody awesome and I look forward to others in the series. Just leave out English voice acting, it doesn't fit with such a Japanese game. SEGA was brilliant with Valkria Chronicles and I'd like to see their continued success on the PS3 this gen.

jrsenkbe5461d ago

Hopefully they will annouce Yakuza 3 for NA at E3. Kenzen would be nice as well, I imported the game and itrs great, jut hard to experience it fully without at least English subtitiles. Very Japanese game though.

callahan095461d ago

I've already got both Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan! and 3, but I'd still support a localization effort. Both games are really good, but 3 is better than Kenzan! 3 is one of the best games this generation, easily.

valkyria chronicles would like to speak to you.

callahan095461d ago

They're both insane in how good they are. Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 is much bigger in scope, scale, freedom, and everything. It's got a lot more to offer, and it'll last anyone much longer. But that doesn't mean what it's doing at the core is better, per se. Valkyrie Chronicles has absolutely incredible art style and gameplay and story, so it's hard to top that, but Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 offers MORE and does a great job with art, gameplay, and story in its own right. I love both games, you shouldn't discount either!

Dragun6195461d ago

Now all they have to do is release Yakuza 3 here in NA and EU and I'll be a happy camper.

Sega is on roll with PS3. Valkyria Chronicles and Yakuza 3, I wonder whats next?
Virtua Fighter 6? Full Auto 3? Maybe even that announced PS3 exclusive in E3 05 that went silent, Fifth Phantom Saga?

Hopefully Sega continues to roll out good games with the exception of Next-gen Sonic games. (Seriously, Were-Sonic and Sonic with a Sword and Olympics with Mario.....next thing you know it they'll make Sonic with a Gat and Sh1t.)

pwnsause5461d ago

whats next is that they better bring a few arcade games into the PSN, seriously, WTF?!?!?! why dont we get Outrun online for the US PSN?

shadowfox5461d ago

The only thing I'm worried about is that Nagoshi says he wants a new Yakuza every year... I don't want this to become Dynasty Warriors: Yakuza...

cmrbe5461d ago

Yakuza would sell at least a million copies in NA and EU. What is it?.

shadowfox5461d ago

honestly, just a look at yakuza 1/2 sales show why they haven't been more aggressive with the series.

I'm sure if sega marketed it as a japanese version of GTA(it isn't, i know), they would have a multi-million selling franchise.

Danja5461d ago

well the sales of Yakuza 2 was low because the game came out 2 years after it was 1st released by that time most ppl were moving unto the PS3 it got over looked

Tales Of Graces Ƒ Retro Review – Holding Out For a Hero

Gary Green said: Namco Bandai heard the call of many fans asking for the PlayStation release of Tales of Graces which was originally released seemingly exclusively for the Wii back in 2009. If you’re acquainted with the Tales series then Graces f won’t be something entirely new to you, yet if you’re a newcomer then you’ll find a plethora of gameplay mechanics and nuances that distinguish this series from other JRPGs. While the game finds itself following the traditional archetype of JRPGs, such as a somewhat clichéd story, Graces has something to offer to both veterans and newcomers alike.

It's A Crime That There's No Sleeping Dogs 2 Yet

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."

LG_Fox_Brazil3d ago

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai3d ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

CrimsonWing693d ago

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

solideagle3d ago

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion

Abnor_Mal3d ago

Doesn’t Microsoft own the IP now since they acquired Activision?

DaReapa3d ago

No. Square Enix owns the IP.

Abnor_Mal2d ago

Oh okay, Activision owned True Crime, but when that didn’t sell as intended it was canceled. Six months later Square Enix bought the rights and changed the title to Sleeping Dogs.*

*As per Wikipedia

boing13d ago (Edited 3d ago )

Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
