Capcom's recent E3 line up announcement essentially confirms that Lost Planet 2 will indeed be coming to the PS3 at some point.
sigh...360 needs this. Looks like it shall be timed and PS3 will get it later with some new feature. Good move by microsoft to get it timed though. Timed exclusives better than no exclusives
The first one coming out on ps3.. and capcom being a multiplatform developer. My only problem with lost planet, is that the first one sucked on 360/pc/and sucked most on the ps3. I'm glad that i'm not relying on a LP2 announcement/footage at e3 for any of my consoles/computer. Capcom is in the business of making money. If you want some real exclusives, look to your first party devs folks. Not ones on the console/pc. When Lp2 hits the ps3 it will of course run slightly worse than the 360 arcade version which it was optimized to run on, which always come in far behind any ps3 exclusive when it comes to performance, what ps3 owners are going to buy LP2 once it hits in the sea that is PSE3? The first one performed terribly as well. Capcom is giong to have to prove that its running well before they fool the 34 people that bought the ps3 version into buying it again instead of exclusives. And why the hell do you invest in a timed exclusive of LP2? This is all wrong. SF4, yes. RE5, yes. LP2? ... Its like buyingn exclusive wheelman dlc.. oh wait.
The way things are with Capcom games... we'll have another 5gb install... get ready for a sandwich spree.
because I thought they actually had "more evidence", damm was I wrong. JOY
yup 5Gb install is pretty much Guaranteed.
Why? Not like they went to any extra effort with the last one.
I will simply get it for the PC and problem solved.
This whole timed exclusive thing is utter nonsense if you ask me. If you(the scum company) end up having the game released for a substantial amount of time before the rest, then you're basically beta testing the game for the ps3 and vise versa. Regardless how much people try to deny it, third party exclusives are gone out the window. This is the sole reason why Sony will forever have the upper hand when it comes to games and momentum. They always have something new and groundbreaking to offer on a monthly basis. A true gamer knows that moves like this are pathetic and M$ has lead in this department. I never thought i'd see the day when such a large corporations like Micro would be riding on third party games and false advertise them like they where exclusives. Truly and utterly pathetic. So are fools who follow such a underwhelming corporation.
unless MS can pay capcom what they would make on the ps3 it will not be exclusive to the 360, but then again it's ms so that is very possible
No one is denying that it's not coming to PS3 so I don't see why this is being dragged out like this. It's going to come out on PS3 and PC just like every other Capcom game this generation. For some people, "common sense isn't so common"
Sweet more games to play.:)
This is based on some of the same speculations we have already heard. The info isn't even accurate. No one ever said the game is in development for "PC" and the 360. I fail to see any new "evidence" ps3center.net you say?
I personally thoroughly enjoyed the first one. I'm looking forward to the second one that so far looks amazing. It will come to the PS3 with some extra content though.... I prefer not to have timed exclusives because it basically steals the early adopters of extra content while excluding other gamers. It is a lose-lose situation for gamers in general, but the practice is here to stay. edit: Obviously this won't happen, but I would laugh hard if it came out on the Wii instead of PS3.
I played the first one on my 360 and thought it was fairly mediocre. This one does look more interesting though, so we'll see.
It doesn't make sense to keep the T-eng system. If it's warm enough for plant life to grow why do they need thermal energy?
the MT engine works better with 360, and even more so when the project is xbox 360 lead. if capcom wants to make it exclusive to 360 or make it a multiplatform that's up to them, but it's most def that ps3's version won't be worth paying attention to or worth buying.
meh, I'm going to at least rent the 360 version. The first one was 7/10. It could have been better, but man it was annoying when you fell, it had a 3-5 second animation for you to get back up just for you to get knocked down again. Jun Takeuchi eat a D*** with your crappy character controls (RE5 too)
For those who think they havent said anything about LP2 on PC http://www.capcom-unity.com... At the show, Capcom will be focusing on the following games: Dark Void (PS3, 360, PC) Lost Planet 2 (currently 360, PC) Dead Rising 2 (will be "behind closed doors") Spyborgs (Wii) Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles (Wii) Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (PSP) Marvel vs Capcom 2 (digital release for PS3, 360) Fate Unlimited Codes (digital PSP release) Street Fighter IV (PC) Bionic Commando (PC) Mega Man Star Force 3 (DS) Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil (Wii) Capcom Mystery Game #1 (playable in booth!) Capcom Mystery Game #2 (announced at a press conference!) plus games from Capcom's mobile group
I would be lying if I said I didn't want to play this game.. I love me some Co-op games though. Get your rocks ready because... I actually want this and Army of Two: 40th day. I have a blast playing co-op games with my little Bro and buddies that come over to the house, to bad all I have to play is Army of 2, RE5 and Resistance 2 at the moment.
You bunch of hypocrites!!!
I agree with Adolf Hitler. :-=0
Either come out and say yes, no or we're still unfamiliar with the PS3. At this point timed exclusives are only hurting publishers. Same applies to Sony and Ghostbusters.
Why all this commotion for this game. The 1st one was sh!t. This is as irrelevant as the stupid Ghostbusters timed exclusivity.
think it is. It's probably a timed exclusive because they've said that right now they're only working on the 360 version.
But since they are only working on the 360 version, it won't translate well when time comes to make the PS3 version. Regardless of what Capcom or any other publisher PR says about how they develop games and how the engines are supposedly built for multiplatform it's just PR talk. To build perfection for the PS3 you need to start ground up on that platform. Lost Planet 2 on PS3 will be inferior.
Yeah, there's absolutely no point in them releasing the PS3 version at all under these circumstances. Most games would lose out on PS3 sales purely with the later release but with the example of how a very mundane first game on 360 translated into an even worse experience on PS3 this one's properly dead in the water. I'll rent it for 360 but after being stung by the first one it'll have to be incredibly different to make me buy it this time around. I dunno when I last really enjoyed a Capcom game, and I know people think they're on good form but , for me, DMC4 and LP were bad and everything else since has been pretty "meh" as well(possible exceptions of MM9 anmd SF2THDR)plus after ruining the SP of RE5 to add insult to injury with the Vs content fiasco means I just don't trust them anymore.
it just doesn't work which console gets it last it sells poorly
beta testing it for the other console.
Just hope the port will be much better than the port of the first game.
i dont know who Capcom thinks they are fooling. Just announce timed exclusive and get it over with.
Yes, it doesn't make much sense to be so vague about it. If it's timed or an exclusive just say it. Then we won't have to listen to the hacks of the internet basically talking out of their arse like they know what is going to happen or going on with this game.
Yeah, but they get a lot of free publicity out of fanatics arguing over whether their game will appear on their console of choice. This article is a good example.
I think you should say this to Bioware, as well, about Mass Effect 2.
crab summed it up nicely with massive damage. "It's not coming out for PS3... or is it?" "Is it?" "No... not right now. Exclusive to the 360." "Not right now?" "No, not ever!!! Maybe." "Maybe?" "No not maybe. Never. for now." "FOR NOW???" "CONFIRMED: Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2" :)
let it come to the ps3, so these girls can stop whining. as long as its on the 360 im good
It's obvious what they would be getting if they played the first one on PS3. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
remember killzone 1? i guess u just wanna say crap. frikkin fanboy
In what way do you think he was being a fanboy? The first LP was much worse on the PS3 than the 360(shockingly so) and with the dev process and engine being almost exactly the same isn't it fair enough to think the second game might do similar? To suggest PS3 gamers should be wary of this if it does release seems pretty good advice. What concerns me more as a gamer is that the gameplay improves over the trudging numbness we all sat through last time. It deserves to as mechs are cool done right and the premise is as good as most but last time it was really one dimensional in terms of gameplay experience-and that was on 360, on PS3, as I said, it was even worse.
timed exclusive like all 360 games
The game is actually being developed on PC hardware right now. All the videos Capcom have shown of Lost Planet 2 so far has been running off high-end PC hardware. If Capcom continues their trend of working on PC games in-house (first Lost Planet, DMC4, Bionic Commando, Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 5), then LP2 will likely be on PC too.
Both Lost Planet & Lost Planet Colonies were on PC and 360(the latter with cross-platform play), only the first Lost Planet is on PS3.
Selling well and this one will to if its not already being ported already as I type XBox 360 fans believe anything these days in what Microsoft said like this is "Only on Xbox 360" and the next day its announced on the PS3 and of course they believed Microsoft fixed the RROD.
ps3 kids didnt want this game?
I thought M$ had exclusives?
I hope Gears of Bugs 3 doesn't come to my console - that game is trash. Only decent part about it was that chainsaw weapon, but holy crap lay off the quick time events.
...that powers the check-generator machine at M$? Looks like M$ isn't paying its "bills."
bomboclaat gamer hear me now,im not a girl and dont care for lost planet 2. jah!
Stupid BABOONS, when will you learn...AHAHHAHAHHAHAHH
"Step By Step: Free Yourself From Xbot Delusion" 360 has nothing to brag about anymore. Xbots should be glad that you at least have more exclusives than the 3DO and Pippen.... LMAO
The logic they use is a bit of a stretch.
There is no evidence needed, it's inevitable...
I hope this game is good. IT makes zero sense for this game to be exclusive to any platform. We all should be able to enjoy this game.
Microsoft is begging (or paying) Capcom to keep the PS3 version secret so that they will have something to talk about at E3 besides DLC.
M$ can keep this game if they want.. LP1 sucked! Lp2 looks as suck as LP1
meh i would rather pick up street fighter 4 than this.
No street fighter 4 yet? What in God's name are you waiting for? Hands down the best fighter this gen. Warning though, you will get raped online if you don't practice.
If the main focus is four player multi its a sure bet that anything single player, given RE5, is going to suck. Forget that there probably wont be a story, just a multiplayer campaign.
it's probably timed.
what a fuking losers
$$$$$$$$$ Nuff said.
This dudes right
Sure, why not. Toss another on the massive pile this year. My wallet weeps.
NO XBOTS! damn they must be hurtin after that announcement. FIRST DEAD RISING NOW LOST PLANET! OUCH!
If it comes to the PS3, it's gonna look like crap. The first one was evidence enough.
um-muh-guh!!! I freakin' love your avatar! I was in love with her throughout the show...even though she was just a card.
lols to your comment. Ports: 360 to PS3 - 360 version looks better PS3 to 360 - PS3 version looks better Why is there still a debate???
why wouldn't it? The first one is on PS3, ergo the franchise is on PS3. No brainer I would have thought?
