Japan To Ban Wireless Gaming On Flights

Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport plans to ban local wireless gaming from flights, the Yomiuri Shimbun reports today.

Citing the fact that the wireless functionality of game systems like DS and PSP can interfere with the plane's instruments, they will officially prohibit passengers from engaging in wireless gaming or any other local wireless networking activities during flight.

Passengers can still play their PSP or DS in flight, says the article, as long as the seatbelt sign and the wireless transmit modes are turned off.
