Seattle Post Intelligencer: Ever since my preview of MAG with screenshots hit the video game news syndication site N4G.com there have been some comments on the site express some concern about the graphics. They expressed the view that the graphics need to be "tightened up" and that it does not look like other first person shooter games. They are right on the last part MAG is not built like other first person shooter games and it was made with a completely different set of requirements for the graphics.
Pretty much all first person shooters up until MAG have been based on a level design theory that I would like to humorlessly but accurately refer to as "A Series of Tubes".
Over the last 25 years, there has been a fair few South Park games, and here GameSpew has ranked them all from best to worst.
Game Rant chats with the creator of No More Heroes about who he would like to see play the role of Travis Touchdown in a live-action adaptation.
Actually Ryan Gosling makes a ton of sense.
Edit: If this can be done in a Scott Pilgrim movie kind of way that would be dope.
The Opening Levels that hooked gamers from the outset.
whenever i hype this game, people try an shoot it down, because they are certain it's going to be laggy.
Then, every one is certain that "it's too much" or "it's too chaotic"
which i think is bull, because this is combat - not a sport. The more players we can have the better is say, especially when we are talking real combat.
Bring on MAG
This is by far the best breakdown of the different types of games and the intricacies of level design vis-a-vis graphics.
Anyways.. I was not at all interested in this game at all. However, after playing KZ2 multiplayer I realized that the more players on screen the better it is.
Why is that? Well.. my observation is that everyone dies less often. By that I mean a poor slob will die less often since there are many other people to spread the kill count.
However, after experiencing KZ2.. I've become a graphics snob. I want it all.. fantastic graphics AND great game. KZ2 can get better and I look forward to the next iteration.
So, if in order for me to get the excellent immersion available in KZ2 is possible due to "series of tubes" based level design.. then I'm all for it. But, it'd be nice to have both.
good article. looking forward to MAG. hope the PS4 has a lot more RAM maybe 4GB then we can have more non linear games like this
